Available from today at Woolworths, Motorola A835 3g Videophone on Pay & Go for only £149.99 - offer limited to 2 per person and very limited stock.

Just got mine and can`t believe you can get a phone with such a high spec. for a hundred and fifty quid!!

Only downer is that it it only works ( to my knowlege ) with a Three sim card, contained in box.

Check the specification here

if you look around you can actually get this phone on a 12 month contract for as little as 12.50 per month via cashback ie.free phone+500 anytime, anynetwork minutes.wheras if you buy, first you have to shell out 150.00 then shell out 25.00 a month on top up vouchers for the same thing. so over i year you will spend 450.00,but if you take contract it will cost you 150.00inc. for the same thing. this is a nobrainer! :)

Another downer for this phone is that the Three Pay As You Go set up is like a throw back to the late ninties !! The minimum top up is £15.00, and the voucher is only valid for 30 days !!!

Therefore, seems like you`d be better off going for the pay monthly if you must but I wouldn`t touch Three with a barge-pole.

Cheers,
Rich.

I also wouldn`t touch a 3 phone with a big stick.

I hear they still only have 210,000 customers..... most are owned by staff and friends......presumably most of the staff have now lost their friends after giving them a 3 phone... LOL.

3 PAYG is just that, no minimum top up, no maximum time.
you pay by direct debit for only the text/voice calls/video calls/services that you use.

Unless I am very much mistaken........................I am very much mistaken!

I`m afraid not mate, you`re talking about the old ` 3 to go` tariff which is no longer avaliable to new subscribers. The new pay as you go tariff is restricted as above.

Cheers,
Rich.

In my family we have four contracts with three for sometime now and have no complaints. We are all on 750 minutes and cannot fault the service, we have had no problems over the 9 months we have had these contracts. We have also saved money on our land line using our 750 minutes allowance and our cellphone costs year on year are approx. been reduced by 40% vs o2. You can save money if you think about it, and as I said we have had no problems with any of the services.

keith uk,where in the country are you? think a lot depends where the phone is used!
anyway, think 3g are getting their act together now, what with tv/press promo, and if you could see the technology that they are developing and is on the way,its get very interesting. people are always slagging 3 off,if you buy one you have 2 weeks to change your mind.but there is no getting away from it,just compare the call charges with the other networks and their so confusing ripoff tarrifs! its a nobrainer! ;)

I am near Windsor in Berkshire, however 1 have used the 3G in London, Reading, Milton Keynes, Southampton, Newport (Wales) with no problems. If you are sensible with the use of added services then the costs are good for what you get. The video phone calls are ace, very clear indeed. As you can tell by now I have nothing but praise for 3G and my combined landline and cellphone costs have been reduced (compared to o2) with a really good service and when you are paying for 4 cellphones (2 for my children) then thats a big plus.

I too have no complaints concerning 3.
I too live in Berks and coverage is good.
We bought two phones for £100 some while back on Pay as you go (direct debit version). From advice received on this site. These were the bulky E808 champagne versions which although HUGE are great for our purposes, video, camera, music, etc.

We cancelled a vodaphone contract and use the 3 phones instead of the Vodaphone and the work phone which reduces private calls from the work bill.

We reckn that we have paid for the phones in the savings on the vodaphone cancellation that was costing approx. £22 per month. Not to mention the savings on the work phone bill for private calls, we estimate that we are now saving money each month, bills from 3 are typically approx, £3 to £5 each per month. We do not use the extra services currently. We can download video, ringtones and music files to the phones to use as a "walkman" with a USB lead to PC, therefore no charges incurred.

We are happy, and with the earpiece/mic you do not have to hold the phone to your head looking like Trigger Happy TV!
