Page 4 of [VIDEO] The Last of Us (HBO)

I wasn't a big fan of last week's episode (it was based on a DLC addon, not part of the original game).  It was a nice way to show a bit of Ellie's backstory while Joel got better but it took its time to get to how she got infected.  It was close to the game, including not showing us what happened to them next.  I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as the Bill and Frank episode.
This week's episode was really good and really close to the events of the game.  The bit in the restaurant on fire was very faithful indeed - including sneaking around behind tables etc.
Pretty sure he was dead at the end too.

I've read on line that there is a series two and three being commissioned.

I have no idea about the game, as never seen it, but apparently the next two series are based on the 2nd game.

There was some doubt about Ellie being recast, because they thought she would be to young, that seems to have changed now, she is 19 playing a 14 year old, and in the next instalment its apparently set 5 years into the future, so should work out.

I agree you cant please everyone, i love The Walking Dead, but it got boring after series 7, Fear the Walking Dead enjoyed it all, and and Z Nation i thought was brilliant as there was so much humour in it as well.

Fingers crossed they stick with the recipe for this series

that might be best. this first season is following the first game too much for my liking and really that first game could have covered two seasons alone. My biggest issue so far is that by following the game so closely I know almost everything that happens and also (unless this is intentional) the show will be over by end of season 2... never played last of us part 2 and now I think I will leave it until I have seen the show's version (might give me some tips too as I was awful at the first game)

hospital scene, where it was just like in a game, walk down corridor, shoot the "bad guy" out of ammo, so pick up their gun :)

oh, they did a good job of getting an actress to sound v similar to Ellie, then look in IMDB and see it's the game Ellie being her mum :)

The hospital scene..SPOILER:
in slo-mo, was great.  As you say, just like a game, running out of ammo and picking up a new gun.I thought the woman playing Ellie's mum looked spookily like Ellie (Bella Ramsey) too.
So happy to see the giraffes too.

Kaitlyn Dever, who I've loved ever since she was in Justified. Also fantastic in Dopesick.

Which is pretty funny, because she would have been perfect for Ellie if they'd made the show 10 years ago.

I hope she knows what she's getting herself into...
