...and we haven't even had a thread on this yet.
England in a World Cup semi final.
No it's not mens football but loads of them are only semi pro and earn less than the average prem player spends on bootlaces. It's still bloody good with plenty of skill on show and you certainly can't fault the commitment.
Win or lose the semi if they aren't at least on the short list in SPOTY for team of the year there's no justice.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
This has proved to me that its not england i dislike intensely but the overrated, overhyped mens team as I find myself rooting the girls on......who woulda thunk it :)......

Germany in the final?
...and win on penalties.
Not that I'm thinking revenge in any way.

forgot it was on so missed the first half, watched the 2nd half, and thought we had some great chances and looked good.

Birmingham. (Rob will understand)
That poor girl will carry that for the rest of her life regardless of how much supports she gets from her team mates and fans. Unfortunately at 31 she's unlikely to get a chance to put it right at the next WWC.
Although we had chances to win it, and should have being the better team over 90 mins, there was far too much hit and hope when coming out of defence. Just pumping the ball downfield ain't gonna do it.
Every right to feel proud of themselves and if they don't get team of the year at SPOTY there's no justice.

Yeh right, come on Scotland.
Unless Watson can beat Williams which is about as likely as me outrunning Mo Farah.

It's a shame all the matches were on so late and I couldn't watch them, would have enjoyed their run. :/

I still blame the team for that, not the refs. :)

I agree. Just using it as an example of last minute pain due to individual cockup.
Similar type of Noooooo! pain as 'Nayim from the halfway line'

Pick the best goal from the WWC
Made my choice and it's not the shot from halfway in the final.
EDIT: Votes over (only a short one obv)
Carrie Lloyd's halfway shot won it with Lucy Bronze second, mostly patriotic fervour involved in that I'd guess.
For me Wambach's shot v Nigeria was the best from a pure football point of view. You're always going to get more successful longe range shots in Women's football due to the smaller stature of the keepers.
