Known about this for a while (this won't shock you) and very against it for a number of reasons...

Firstly, it's way more expensive than a ZX Spectrum + DivIDE + joystick which gives you a genuine original machine that effectively does the same thing.

Secondly, I doubt the authors of the 1,000 games it comes with will get a penny from it, not that there would be much if you divided the profits between them.

And thirdly, there are loads of classic Speccy games that need more than five buttons and a d-pad.

(A bonus fourth one for you... that is one awful 3D printed prototype with a terrible job of photoshopping "ZX Spectrum Vega" onto it)

But all of those moans are wiped out by the fact that the proceeds will be going to a children's charity, so good luck to them!

I already have a ZX Spectrum 16K (upgraded to 48k), a ZX Spectrum+, a ZX Spectrum 128K+, a ZX Spectrum +2, a ZX Spectrum +2A and ZX Spectrum +3 (well two actually, one is a bit broke!). Oh and quite a lot of addons for them, ranging from the lightgun, a lightpen, the Multiface 128k, the Multiface +3, two Tricksticks, various joystick interfaces, an Interface 1, an Interface 2, a couple of Microdrives, a DivIDE, a DivMMC, a PS2 keyboard interface, a RAM Music Machine interface, a Currah Microspeech, a SpecDrum... and probably a few I've forgotten.

So I'm not really the target market. ;)

That and it's backed by Mr C5 himself.

Take your point about any money for those who wrote the games but surely apart from this idea they'd never see the light of day again?
Is copyright on games similar a timescale to recorded music in how long it lasts?

No longer own a Speccy but if I ever get space and time there's an Atari 1040ST inc monitor etc in the loft.

Yeh it was both Jetpac and Jet set willy

Also just checking google images, Ant Attack was a good one.

From google images found the Wizard one, and it was called Avalon, it was my favorite.

lol, that's what I've got in my parent's loft! I was still playing it when mates were on STs and Amigas! the floppy drive was a bit temperamental but I had a tape drive attached to it, as tapes were so much cheaper than disc versions of games.

Dan Dare was good, the obvious famous multi format ones like Jet Set Willy, Elite, Dynamite Dan.

Codemasters did some quality games, as well as Dizzy, there were things like Super Robin Hood, Ghost Hunters, super stuntman

there was period when isometric 3d games were popular, Head over Heels was the king of them, also Alien 8, Batman, Knight Lore.

that's all off the top of my head :) I'll have a look later to see what exclusives there were, I remember a mate of mine got the later version of the 6128 which let you play some of the games that came out on the short lived Amstrad console.
