The problem is Nero 5.5. It burns discs that aren`t 100% compliant with the DVD standard. Go to this page and download ImgToolBurn. DVDShrink to your hard drive, then use ImgToolBurn to burn to DVD. It wouldn`t hurt to buy Nero Burning ROM 6.0, as it integrates much better with the newer editions of DVDShrink.

Don`t despair, you`ll get there in the end :D

Do not be alarmed. That strange sound is simply
my mind boggling.

I have no problems at all using Nero 5.5.
What are you doing?
When you come to create the DVD, select DVD, and DVD-Video. This shows an Audio_ts and a Video_ts folder on the left. On the right, navigate to the folder that DVD Shrink created its files in. Go into its video_ts folder and drag ALL the files (bup, vob etc.) into the Video_ts folder on the left.
Burn the disc. 15 minutes later (with a 4X) you should have a playable DVD.

I`ve no problems using Nero 5.5 either. I`ve only been using DVD Shrink a month or so but found it very easy to use. If you download the new version (3.1) it works even better by working with Nero so you don`t have to do anything to burn it.

About 3 clicks is all that`s needed, open disk, analyse, backup (it works with Nero from within DVD Shrink to create the disk.

Very good, can`t believe it`s free. :)

Depends which version of Nero 5.5 you are using. There were loads of problems with versions before 5.5.10, but I think that most problems were sorted out with one of the 5.5.10.n releases.

I use the wizard because it`s familiar. Don`t know if this will help but
I find the DATA DVD option doesn`t work in my Toshibas. This is what I do
1. Compile a DVD
2. Other DVD Formats
3. DVD Video
4. Nero then tells you that it needs VOB, IFO and BUP files to burn a DVD.
5. I then just drag the video_ts folder into the left window and it does the rest.
Just press burn.
By the way some amazing guides for DVD Shrink available from DVDRhelp.com this is one incredibly versatile tool for free. You can even have different compression rates for different parts of the film if you want to. Movie only, movie plus selected extras, extras only although you don`t get a menu with the later options they play consequetively.

Got to agree with Mark ImgToolBurn is very good and easy to use as you don`t have to create video or audio folders ( DVD Shrink 3.1 will also create these folders now ) and place the files in them , just select the folder where the dvd shrink files are and ImgTool sorts out the dvd files into the correct format and folder.
