Can anyone recommend a DVD Player for £100 Notes or less
I am looking for a decent Player that will cope with mp3`s, +RW -RW, you know the usual bollox that we all want. Theres so many out there but i dont have the time to keep up, i would like a kiss player for DivX but cant stretch that far.
Please let me know

I`ve heard a lot of good things about the Toshiba SD330. Multi Region for £80 from Richer Sounds and Amazon.

Well, if them Ellion made players sold by Scan have the same output as their 650V model, wouldnt you rather stretch another £12 and get one of them?
I have a 650V and the output picture is stunning...
....course, that could be cause it`s progressive scan, connected via Component to me 42" plasma on me bedroom wall....<grin>

you could get the yamada player from Amazon, or the Alba 45 from Argos. The yamada seems to have firmware problems with a few players, and the Alba has a very primitive front screen. But at £40-ish each, and they`re both multi-region, you can`t grumble

I picked a Toshiba SD330e and have been very happy with it, much better sound than my previous player that died. It plays the following no problem
Multi region, RCE, DVD-R, DVD+R, VCD, JPEG, MP3 (on a cd)
Divx? no go I`m afraid I take the long way around by converting the AVI file to an MPEG then burning it onto a DVD. The Yamada seems to be thought of highly in other posts I`ve read as well. As for the Toshiba after Richer sounds promising to put a player away for me twice and selling it I thought sod it and ordered one at Amazon less hassle for a tenner more.

If you are prepared to spend £100 you can go beyond the supermarket cheapies and get a quality player. However, these far east jobbies do seem to be the ones that p ay more types of discs.

Asda at Leicester Fosse Park had stacks of them on Monday 29th Dec.

I just got a Yakumo DVD Master from Amazon for £34.99. It`s multi-region out of the box, nice looking, and has played everything I`ve chucked at it. (Except mpeg4/divx obviously!) They also hve a Yamada DVD player with DivX/XviD compatibility for £79.99
