RE: 4 WEEKS WORTH OF FREE DVD RENTALS.
If free trial online DVD rental is your thing then check out here
http://www.dvdtrials.co.uk/The_News/Articles/DVD_rental_complete_list/
I`ve gone through the list twice after moving house so I`ve actually had something like 6-9 months free DVD rentals. Nothing illegal just try one out cancel before they take your money and move on to the next one. Anyone thinkng of doing it start with Blockbuster, screen select and lovefilm, yeah they`re slow but a free trial is free after all and that is 12 weeks for nothing just with those three.
RE: Winning Eleven 6 on Gamecube.
I got winning eleven 6 a while back on ebay for about £30 and to be honest it`s a great game and well worth the money but it definately loses something having the menus in Japanese. Since then I`ve got a PS2 and picked up PES 3 for a pittance and the only thing I miss from winning eleven 6 is the fantastic Japanese commentary. I`ve played the PS2 version a lot more understanding all the menus now.
If you are a footy fan and you`d pay £40 for the game you could pay another £40 and get yourself a second hand PS2 you can even pick up PES4 really cheap but two or three are under a £15. For me it`s been a good time to get a PS2 there are a lot of good old games that aren`t out on the cube that are amazingly cheap if you go for pre-owned stuff at Game or ebay. Especially as the Cube seems to be coming to the end of it`s run, bloody fantastic console that it is, but there are only a few games on the horizon I can see myself getting
RE: Even better mp3 deal.!!!>>>256mb mp3 player for 19.92!!!!!
Looks really good but does anyone know if the company is reliable, has anyone used them before?
RE: Anywhere to get cheap Gamecube games from? Plus any recommendations?
Not a platformer at all but Super Monkey ball 2 is fantastic, for a cheap mario type game Starfox isn`t a bad bet but it basically felt like a stop gap to till Zelda came out. have a look at the pre-owned section at Game you`ll find some good cheapies. Another one that I haven`t got but want to get is paper mario it`s kind of a lightweight action RPG. There`s a lot of good stuff out there at the moment Sonic mega collection would be a good one too.
RE: PSP vs. DS
Well I picked up a DS yesterday and am very impressed with it, my main reason for choosing this above the PSP is that I already own a PS2 I can`t see anything appearing on the PSP apart from PS2 ports, (much like the GBA can`t really do anything a SNES can`t). Yes it has a nice screen and looks very very cool but I`m a bit worried about the battery life (and the price).
But back to the DS it`s a whole new way of playing games and it doesn`t feel like a gimmick at all, Mario 64 DS and the Metroid demo really show what the machine is capable of, and the mini games are fantastic on Mario. The kiddy image of Nintendo is something brought up again and again and no matter how many Resident Evil 4`s, Eternal Darkenes, or the new Zelda`s it will continue becuase of there heritage after all they are using characters that I grew up with and played when I was a kid but that`s fine with me I don`t see it as a bad thing Playability is something you get from GT4 to playing connect 4 a good game is a god game simple as that no matter who it is aimed at. The touch screen is a fantastic idea but isn`t for everyone, it`s all about what you want from a machine, if you want the top specs with lots of games (not all of them good mind you) go for the PSP, if you want something really different and original check out the DS. When the price comes down and a killer game comes out I may well pick up a PSP but I`m happy with what I`ve got for now.
PES3 Vs PES4
For the PS2 obviously PES4 is the best tgame but how much better is it really, I ask because the cheapest you can pick up PES4 is for about £30 but lots of places are selling PES3 for £7.99.
If you don`t have a football game (apart from WINNING ELEVEN 6 in Japenese on the gamecube), what would you go for? is the latest update really worth an extra £20ish or is purely cosmetic changes such as updating all the player nmes and adding an extra menu option?
Cheers for the help I`m very new to the PS2 scene.

RE: Gamecube Verus Playstation 2
You can pick up a 2nd hand Gamecube for under £40 at Gamestation, get both. I have a GC and am not dissapointed but San Andreas and Final Fantasy are swaying me to get a PS2 soon.
Get both, they both have fantastic games and the Game cube is dirt cheap now.
Going to the US early 05 what should I get?
I`ve just found out I`m off to the US early next year and if you were in my position what would you get a DS or a PSP
DS is universal any cartridge and country, any news on the PSP this would be a big factor in my decision.
PSP Is it actually any good or does it have battery power as bad as I have heard.
At the moment I`m leaning towards the DS but the other thing I`m interested in is what would be the better deal. The UK always overprices compares to the dollar so how cheap do you think I`d be able to pick either of these up
Star Wars problems with disc 1
I recieved Star wars from Send it on Saturday. I put the first disc in which is labelled as A new hope ep 4 but it was return of the jedi. Right disc wrong film. I`ve got a returns number and I guess I have to just send it back to Belfast. Anyone else had this problem?
Will you buy a new console with all the price cuts?
I already have a gamecube but with the X-box going down to £99 on Friday I`m tempted. The PS2 is already at £99 so has this influenced anyone to buy one and if so which. I`m edging towards the X-box
RE: help burning dvd
DVD Shrink is a fantastic bit of kit but chances are you don`t have the file in a video_TS folder. My advice would be to go to the Doom 9 website and have a look at the guides, should help you.
RE: NTL broadband free Xbox offer & price cuts
Do you have to be in a cabled area to take advantage of this or do they use the normal BT line?

RE: Blockbuster DVD rental by post, free one month trial!
Turnaround times:
Lovefilm, Blockbuster very good I`ve returned a DVD and 2 days one has arrived for me (that`s a best case scenario If you send it back in the morning)
I first cancelled with Screen select becuase of both the slower turn around and the discs were scratched to hell and wouldn`t play on older popular titles, got offered another 2 weeks free so tried it out and they have improved a lot.
DVD365 Damn Awful!! of all the discs they sent me I could watch about 5 of them the rest were in a terrible condition. However if you say the disc in unplayable they will give you extra days for free.
RE: Blockbuster DVD rental by post, free one month trial!
Of the many ones I`ve tried I would say the best is lovefilm, then choices direct and blockbuster, and finally screen select. I don`t like the way you prioritse orders in screen select I prefer to have a list in a specific order. Having said that all 4 are actually very good, when you are not on the trial screen select are a lot better as you are given priority over tial members for new releases. Must say that Blockbuster are impressing me at the moment they are one of the fastest out there with a huge selection.
RE: I need a cheap small multiregion dvd player. Anyone know of any bargains?
I think Safeway are selling the Toshiba SD330 for under £60, very good machine
Game trade in any 4 games and a new one is 99p
I`m sure there is an older thread about this but was chatting to the lovely lady in Game today and this offer finishes end of day tomorrow so get in quick.
In case I didn`t see it here I`ll recap. Trade in any 4 console games and trade them for 1 x game up to the value of £39.99 for only 99p. Just traded Dakar 2, 18 wheeler, Blood Omen, and FIFA World cup (a dreadfull game) and got F-Zero for Gamecube.
Anyway deal ends tomorrow so if you`ve been thinking about it be quick (btw ask behind the counter say you saw the offer on the website there is no mention of it in store.)
RE: Blockbuster DVD rental by post, free one month trial!
Jon_C this might be of use to you. I can`t see which parts of Ireland it covers maybe not NI.

0% on credit card till Aug 05
Not exactlly a dvd bargain but if you buy as many as me you probablly have a very worn credit card. Barcalycard started an offer yesterday with 0% on new purchases and balance transfers till August next year, which is by far the best I`ve seen especially if you have a loan of some sort and are paying huge amounts of interest. At the moment it`s only available in branches and I think the offer is only running for a month. Hopefully this may help someone out.
RE: Blockbuster DVD rental by post, free one month trial!
Don`t know if it`s already been posted but check here for loads of free trials. I haven`t paid for a rental in about six months with all these, I`m moving next month so will probablly do it all again.

RE: The Eye 2
I`ve not had any problems with the eye, but should be still available from DDDHouse. As for the eye 2 my order didn`t go through so I went with CD-Wow. much better option if you have the links / vouchers. Brought mine down to £5.99
The Eye 2
Available for Pre-order at DDDhouse for $80HK
Shipping came to $50 for this and another disc so in total £10.80 for this and Zu Warriors. Not sure if it`s any god but likely to be bloody ages till we get a UK release in the cinemas.
RE: Lars von Trier`s The Kindom/Riget
Darkplace I don`t remember that but I love the original of the Kingdom, and actually don`t mind Kingdom Hospital at all. Must check it out.
RE: Friends Boxsets - bit of a bargain - bit of a QUESTION ?
I got a few from dvdsoon usually very cheap, are Play still doing the region 2 £17.99 per season promo for 1-6 ?
RE: Nintendo DS - Pictures
2 hours!!
If thats true the PSP could be the new Lynx
RE: Nintendo DS - Pictures
Apparantlly EB in the US have this listed as $199 and an early November release, I`ve a feeling the PSP is going to be a hell of a lot more expensive and that could sway it for me.
