I didn’t know that Lords could be removed from the House of Lords!

 I thought once you were in, you were in for life. Apparently inaction and non-attendance means you can be removed.

When Labour announce they wanted to introduce a mandatory retirement age of 80, my first thought was, "that can't remove many people" and then I saw how many it would remove and was shocked.

Im sure his attendance dropped after he had a stroke, so understandable

Stroke. That's no excuse, for that attendance money I would turn up even if I was dead. And likely the Lord's would not notice till I smelled :D
