The Irish guy in the weird green getup (yes, it's a man) has got form. Always protesting stuff and rugby-tackling marathon runners, etc.
It really was quite interesting, and completely predicatible that most of the news stories being shared on facebook yesterday were full of comments like 'pathetic', 'I'd rather be at home with my feet up', 'undemocratic remoaners' etc.
It's rather hypocrital that these idiots are always screaming about upholding democracy by obeying 'the will of the people', but will be equally as vocal to criticise 670,000 people exercising their democratic right to protest.
I brought one commenter up on his comment that the protest should have been outlawed, but mentioning that protests are banned mainly under communist and fascit regimes. That didn't go down too well

Wonder how many people he actually interviewed before he had enough material to fill 2 minutes? 670,000 people there so I'm sure he had plenty of footage he couldn't use as it didn't gel with his narrative. You only have to click through to his YT to page to see what circles he runs with
You're right about balance though, it's like that cro-magnon pleb they interviewed during an EDL march who kept going on about 'Muslamic Law'. It's easy to filter out the vox pops that make sense when you're trying to push your own agenda.

Probably not many. There are stupid people on all sides of the political spectrum, and then people who are just not good at making their argument, and then those who are but only when a camera isn't in their face and time isn't limited.
Which is also a big problem with politics, it rewards people who are good at making a point in a short amount of time, and especially ones that people emote with, when really everything is way more complicated than that.
It's like the EU, it's not perfect, it needs reforming, but it's financially better to be in it than out, which is why lots more countries want to join it. It's complicated.

This is the problem, articulated nicely by Rob.
This is why so many Leave voters are p***ed off at having their vote dismissed as being thick, uneducated and racist.
That is why populism then becomes popular.
Rob is right, politics and policy positions are generally (not always) nuanced, pragmatic and complicated. There are always winners and always losers, very few policies are impact neutral.

I would argue that it is definitely financially better to be in if you are one of the many net recipients rather than net contributor like the UK, so whilst I understand that the benefits you talk about are a lot more than just contributions based, I think there's more to it than that...
