how difficult/how much time do you have to improve the mobile version of the site, or do you not think there's the need?

remember years ago, some ppl left after hating the mobile version, but never gave you feedback :(

I think a few ppl have mentioned the ability to post/upload pics would be nice using it

what annoyed me earlier, and I think Pat has experienced it, is the "inability" to post links. well you can, but I had to manually edit my post several times to put the url tag etc round it, which was annoying, but I had some time to kill so I did it (I'm good like that ;) )

I don't know if the entire WYSIWG/advanced editor is needed for mobile, but maybe it's all or nothing?

Spoilers as well, may be useful to do in mobile version, again, that's not too much hassle if you can guess the tag.

I suppose it depends how many ppl use the mobile version Vs. how much effort it is?

A while back they released a new version of the WYSIWYG editor that supported mobile devices, but it also had huge giant icons and no small icon theme, I think this has changed now, so maybe I can look into it.

It is a bit all of nothing with that, either you get all the functionality or you have to guess tags and forego uploads. :(

That would be a good place to start though, I'll try to find some time to look into upgrading it.

I sometimes use my mobile Amazon fire tablet to look at site and post via wi- fi.

It works fine for me.

Upgrading this could prove harder than I thought. :/ Tool chains have moved on, the site really needs a huge codebase refactor.

Obviously I want to avoid a situation where I spend 6 months to a year working on something that basically looks the same but has a few more bells and whistles, but nobody can use until it's finished, so I need to think about how to do this carefully.

The most sensible way to do this that I can think of is just refactor the forums, but I'll need beta testers and this will still take some time.

Did you do a tweak to make links for pages of threads with lots of answers appear? Better on phone now.
Automatically removing the s from https links would help too (or making them clickable).
