A mildly cautious happy announcement.
We`ve put off announcing this for a few weeks, for reasons that will become apparent as i write, but I`d just like to tell you guys that Annie is expecting our third child, due some time next June.
The reason for the caution is that even though we`re only 6 weeks in, the early stages have been eventul, and extremely painful for Annie. Biological descriptions may follow, so brace yerself fellas.
A few months ago, Annie had incredibly severe period pains, to such an extent, they stopped her working. A visit to the docs had her prescribed paracetomol and powerful cocodamol, which dulled the pain, but made her feel high as a kite.
Fast forward to 6 weeks ago, and the intense pain is back, a week of it, so back to the docs, who tells her the same thing, just bad period pains, take the drugs you still have, so she does. It`s just by chance Annie decided to to a preg test, which comes out positive, so she does another, same result. However, first worry, will strong painkillers affect the baby? Back to the docs, who tells her she probably isn`t pregnant, but the drugs shouldn`t harm any foetus anyway. Phew. We ignore the `not preggers` for the time being.
Then her varicose vein flares up. Up to the hospital to have an alarmist nurse tells her it may be DVT, which puts the willies up Annie no end (quiet at the back), and the only way to quell a possibly infected VV is the drug Warferin, which thins the blood, but also causes miscarriages. So she`s told it`s her or the baby, if it flares up. Charming.
The VV calms down after antibiotics (flucloxicyllin - same as I had when my tattoo got infected), so we`re muddling through, the only worry left is that initial pain that started around the time of actual conception. Annie starts worrying about a possible ectopic. We have an early scan last week, and lo and behold, there`s a cyst the size of a satsuma on her left ovary, with another smaller one on her right. However, the cyst may actually be feeding hormones to the embryo, so we need more checks to see if it needs to be removed. The foetus isn`t developed enough to spot a heartbeat yet, so they book us back in for today - still not developed enough, leading us to believe she`s not as far along as they say she is.
So here we are, kinda in limbo, waiting for next week, when hopefully it`ll be at 6 weeks plus, and a heartbeat will, hopefully, be found. Hopefully, they`ll also be able to say conclusively if it`s an ectopic pregnancy or not. They don`t think it is, but we`re just waiting for confirmation, either way.
KInda sucks, but these things are sent to try us.

All the best for every tiny step of the way.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I`m positive that I`m a pessimist & I don`t care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Good luck.
Never ceases to amaze me how ready Docs and Nurses are to throw a scare into people with just an offhand comment.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Best of luck Pete and Annie. Many people think 6 weeks is too early to even tell family so sharing with `us lot`...
