Poorly baby problem (possible bodily fluid discussions inside)
max has been unwell for a couple of weeks now. We all had a bug a while back, so we (and the Doc) thought it might be a viral thing, but 2 weeks down the line, his nappies are still fairly liquid. We`ve cut out his milk, and only been giving him dried food (Breasticks and rich tea biscuits) on the doctors orders.
After talking to our respective mums, the subject of Lactose intolerace came up. The only symptom he has is the runny bum. we`re going to take him back to the docs tomorrow (damn you bank holidays).
We`re hoping it`s that, as the poor bugger is so hungry, but we don`t want to give him his normal food in case his system can`t handle it

If you`ve cut out his milk and the problem has persisted, how could it be lactose intolerance? :/
Two weeks of diarrhea (sp) is not normal.
With regard to Lactose intolerance, our first born has problems with cows milk.
We switched to Soya milk no problem at all.

RE: Poorly baby problem (possible bodily fluid discussions inside)
Can`t offer any advice Pete, but just wanted to wish him a speedy recovery (from whatever it may be).
RE: Poorly baby problem (possible bodily fluid discussions inside)
We cut out the milk, but some of the biccies we were giving him used Milk powder (the bloody name should have given us a clue).
We`ve got some soya milk now (and Diralyte as backup) so we`ll see how it goes

cant offer any advice, just best wishes, its not good having a poorly littleone at the best of times, and with this weather it must be just making it even harder...
RE: Poorly baby problem (possible bodily fluid discussions inside)
Stick with the Dioralyte until loose stools have stopped and no diary products at all (including biscuits etc with milk. Crisps, pitta bread, veggies etc only)
Gradually introduce minimal dairy over the next few days and see how his tummy copes. Sometimes swapping milks cause stomach upsets etc. We are seeing lots of little ones with ongoing stomach bugs.......couple of weeks isn`t uncommon. Take a stool sample to the gp and insist they send it (they can be pretty laxe in this department so don`t take no for an answer)
Hope the little `un gets better soon

I was hoping you`d pop by Juls. I`ll let annie know.
EDIT: can you give diralyte as a preventative or only after `an event`?
