:( I reiterate am I getting old when I see that (legendary actor) Tony Curtis has passed on and also (not well known to anyone seemingly under 35) producer Stephen J Cannell has also gone plus Gloria Stuart whom my daughter thought was ACTUALLY on Titanic - seriously!! and all the `young generation say is "eh...were they in Glee!!" or "Oh were they not supposed to be in that NEW film (yes new!!) `Back to the Future with some guy/girl(Google undecided!!) Justin Beiber" Seriously - seriously have we let our next generation down? Do they not know the classics and the actors therein? Back to the Future- seriously come on. Next we`ll have Smiley Virus enticing a musical alien into her house with M&M`s or Susan Boyle welding while harbouring a desperate desire to dance - o.k. maybe not but (hopefully) you get my point,
R.I.P Mr Curtis, Mr Cannell and of course Ms Stuart your talents will always be remembered here by those who appreciate them.

Kids know nothing, kids never do. But once they become adults and start mixing with more people you`d be surprised what they are exposed to.

That said I know people who still haven`t seen Ferris Beullers Day Off.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

All kids want to do now it text. They know nothing except what their mates are up to.

Ever sat down at dinner and all your kids are head down and texting. It never ends. They would rather be typing into virtural space than actually talking to a real person.

I told them `when I was a kid, my mum and dad and the rest of us used to all talk round the table about everyday topics and outside news` and all I got was thats so last century Dad.

I must be getting old when I would rather talk than text. Thank god my wife feels the same way, and at least we talk.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

The Justin Beiber thing is ridiculous - i don`t get him at all! And text chat ... a 16 year old sent me an email and I couldn't understand a word of it :S. And Children who say "SICK" for good! <<< all reasons i feel i'm getting old as i just don`t understand it :/ .

I interviewed for a receptionist, got it down to 2 and hired a girl 21 or 22, sharp as a tack, special police officer on her off days (bf is cop) , i have been know to download a few things so the hotel staff are always asking for movies and i try to show some oldies too, anyway, her oh is into action type movies and i thought he would enjoy deadliest warriors tv show, was trying to explain it to her, rob roy V ghengis khan, shaka zulu v alexander the great etc, she had no clue who i was talking about....seriously i said?? aye? she replies, i gave her a couple of my blue rays as she told me she enjoyed gangster flicks so i gave her the long good friday, she put it off after 15 minutes she said!!! bloody hell what do they teach them in school??

That is nowhere near as bad as the south african bar manager in previous hotel who bless her was completely serious when she told me she had never heard of Adolf Hitler >:(

nightmare. My oldest tonight whilst (patiently) listening to my far superior and glorious tunes (!!!) on the docking station started to sing not humm but sing both `Alone` and `Who wants to live forever`. Wow I thought a bit of rock royalty, a bit of genuine talent and class to the world of manufactured cack we see all around ---- no --- one from glee and one from `queen` night (i shudder as i type) from x-factor.
I feel the need to kidnap her i-pod and change ALL the songs on it for the bloody originals!!!
