Page 1 of Lost my Dad sunday morning...
General Forum
My :x dad :x finally lost his battle with cancer sunday morning, he was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer some 5 years ago, having an op then for partial removal, and radiotherapy.
Last September it re-occurred, which led to Chemo, and then another op early this year where his Bladder and Prostate were removed.
After initially picking up for a few weeks, Dad started to fade, and over the past three weeks his pain control was having no little or no effect.
We saw him a week last sunday, thankfully we spent the day with him and mum, and our two little girls. I am thankful to the medical services for giving us the extra years... but i am also glad that he is no longer suffering, as he did in the lat weeks.
Dad is already missed incredibly, before his illness he was a very much larger than life character, but we remember the good times... and will celibrate his life, not mourn his passing. Rest in Peace... one day we will all see you again.
***For all those boys/men and your male relatives who are out there, that are too stubborn to go to the doctors... if you feel unwell are have any symptoms go and speak to them, ask about the PSA Test (simple blood test), my doctor was hesitant to do one for me as he said results were not proven, i argued that without a precedent set by tests being completed then that was never going to be the case
