Given his list of credits that really is like God dying.

Maybe you should ask his friends who were banging on his door during the 92 LA riots whether he left any to them. :)

A great actor, but an awful role model. The `if everybody carries a gun, nobody would get shot` attitude is stupid, and IMHO marred his great career.

A true giant of the cinema - RIP Charles Heston.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

He did make some great movies, unfortunately hes likely to be remembered more (certainly by the younger generation) for the way he was portrayed in Bowling for Columbine......very skewed as it is a Michael Moore flick but still very damning of his views

Hard not to think of his views on gun control in recent years, but he made some incredible films back in the day - Ben-Hur, Touch Of Evil, Planet Of The Apes, Omega Man, Soylent Green... think I might have a Heston-fest today actually.

I love deadlines - I love the whooshing noise they make as they fly past...

He did make some great movies, but it would have been so ironic if he had been shot!
