Page 1 of Anyone here go to the gym?

Or are you all couch potatoes? Seriously though, just thought I`d ask because it`s one subject I don`t remember being discussed on here (at least for a while). I go to a local David Lloyds about 3 or 4 times a week. Nothing mad, just a bit of toning up and stuff.
Also do a bit of pilates and Aqua aerobics (helps with my injured knee). Funnily enough, I`m the only bloke in the entire gym that does it!
So anyone else here go regularly?

Just treated ourselves to a Smooth fitness 8.25e treadmill and christ is it the business :) Up to 11.3 mph / 15 degree incline/ loads of different routines including pulse rate controlled exercises.
I normally use the Gazelle as well , three or four times a week for up to 40 minutes and enjoy using it as it burns up 15 calories a minute so is quite good at burning them up.
I also have an eliptical trainer and try to do about 40 minutes on it at a reasonable resistance a couple of times a week.
That said, the old war wound :D , knackered lower three lumbar vertebrae were acting up so had to lay off for a couple of weeks.
Back in the groove now so times are a changing :D

About four of five times a week. I go just to keep in shape for playing football. I hate lifting weights, so I do a lot of cross-trainer work.

RE: Anyone here go to the gym?
Strangely enough I`m ready to cancel my gym membership.
Joined early last year when I was losing some weight (managed to lose over 3 stone to get down to 15st0lb)....but really really can`t be arsed to go anymore. Don`t enjoy it when I`m there and can`t wait to get out of the place, so its not good for me.
I`m going to see if I can go to the local swimming pool more often, since I tend to enjoy that more....seeing as I`m now back up to 15st11lb!! :D

I work out with weights at home since I do an office job and so am sat on my arse most of the day.
I used to go at least 4 times a week, but then moved back Llandudno way, but ended up near a gym where it was rammed at 5 o clock so didn`t suit me.
All my mates rush home get their tea down and then sit around waiting to go to the gym at 7:30/8. Can`t be bothered doing that.
Went out instead and bought myself a half decent rowing machine and just do 40mins a day on that, but have combined it with my watching through American tv shows (currently Dexter) as they tie in nicely for run times.

I used to go 3 - 4 times a week. Got myself pretty fit at one stage but I had to give it up along with the motorbike and other stuff just to make ends meet. I would love to start going again as i am now about 13 stone and need to lose the gut.
I have just fixed up my push bike so I will have to motivate my self to get out on that every night.

5 or 6 days a week...
i run 10k at least three times a week on a random setting
the other days i do a mixture of cross trainer or step ups and hill walk
i have lost two stone in weight since last June :D ... have to agree it can be a chore to go, but once i am there i thoroughly enjoy it.

Suprisingly I`ve managed to stay really motivated, and actually enjoy my time there working out. I do a little on the treadmill and the cycle but I can`t go too mad because of my knee, plus I find it really dull anyway. I get my cardio from Aqua really.
Most of my stuff is with weights, though as I said that`s not really because I`m bulking up, but moreso just to keep trim.
