Page 1 of Best place to get US dollars in person

I want to get some US dollars but I want to go and pick them up in person, have any of you guys seen a decent rate, i`ll phone the usual places like thomascook, going places etc. Ive also seen the best rate on a website www.no1currency.com they have stores all over the uk which store the money (in the cash generator stores ) it seems catch free so may try these.

Unfortunately I found this out after I got ripped off on my holiday last month. :(

I always tend to find M&S to be one of the best for rates...so generally use them. $1.98 is very good...I think I got $1.96 2 weeks back and I thought that was good

The lady behind the screen thingy said they were at $2.01 last week - in a quandry as to whether to buy now or leave it for a month or so as we dont go til december. Will the high rates stay or should I buy now? Decisions, decisions :)

the other day i was looking at rates and various friends told me Post Office and M&S are the best, my brief research showed M&S the best PO close 2nd.

PO is free to collect from a PO if you order online, with $US you should be ok getting them "in store", M&S the same, PO free delivery to your house if you order over £400, M&S £500

Travelex at airports & railway stations, but book your currency online, don`t turn up & buy ad-hoc as you get the (poorer) rate on the boards.
