RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
Very happy with it so far, thanks for asking. I must admit I do find the phone design much nicer now I`ve seen it with my own eyes. Am finding the interface useful enough to use, take`s very good pics (although my N73 did well enough). Absolutely loving the QWERTY keyboard layout for sending text messages - great idea. Love the vibrating feedback too. Took a while to figure out how to scroll through menus etc properly but once mastered its a doddle. I also like the fact that you can edit videos/pictures on the phone itself so you can see immediately how they`re gonna come out (no borders now on pics on the main screen). Haven`t got a memory card for it yet but will be ordering one shortly at around £10 for a 2gb at ebuyer.
Only bad points I can see so far is me sticking my finger on the camera lense when playing with the jog dial button. Oh and the `stylus` is pants imho.
Back to the phone my fingers go......
RE: Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
I`ll be sure to update too as I finally plumped for the Viewty after spending every waking hour reading info & reviews about it, looks great but there`s always the "its just not for me" syndrome. Should hopefully be in my hands tomorrow, can`t wait. Thanks for the tips.
Viewty or not Viewty....That is my question
Hi all,
My 12 month mobile phone contract has now run its course and it`s time for me to catch up with today`s mobile technology. I`m looking at getting a LG Viewty as my next phone but I`m a bit unsure as to whether it`s as good as it appears to be. Does anyone have any advice/opinions regarding this phone? I currently have an N73 which I think`s ok but now seems a bit outdated. I`ve seen a few other phone`s that interest me like Vodafone`s F700 and the Samsung G800 but the touchscreen of the Viewty does appeal to me, or is the novelty gonna wear off after a week or so? I do tend to text quite often but I`m also looking at the gadgetry side of things.
Thanks in advance.....
RE: So...what`s this new PS3 thingy like then?
Sorry to be a git & all Ogster ;) but after reading several faq`s about 360 memory cards I`m reading that you can use a mem card to connect to Xbox Live and play online, including the crappily small 64mb style. Here`s a link to reviews of one at Amazon. I could well be wrong though as I dont have a memory card to try. Could anyone confirm this as I have a friend who`s thinking about getting either the Core or Arcade and he would want to play online without buying owt else.
RE: So...what`s this new PS3 thingy like then?
Doesn`t seem that bad a deal to me & according to the previous link the Arcade bundle does come with 256mb of integrated memory for game saves so I`d guess that Live would be instantly accessible, however there doesn`t seem to be an ethernet cable included, (how tight are Microsoft) :)
"Xbox 360 Arcade also includes a wireless controller, an HDMI connection to enable high-definition output and 256MB of memory"
RE: Best place to get US dollars in person
Just read the thread title and thought it said "Best place to get US Dollars in Prison"..... :B :B :B
RE: Are fujitsu siemens laptops anygood?
May not be Fujitsu related advice but if you`re not in any desperate rush to buy a laptop I would probably recommend taking a look at Currys reconditioned laptops. I bought one of these a few weeks ago when it was priced at £269 after using a £30 discount code flying around and its a great spec machine for the money, even without the discounts. The recon offers online change frequently (sometimes daily) so it may be worth having the occasional look if interested. The only issue I had was the fact that Currys use DHL to deliver and my nearest was a 35 mile round trip.
The Fujitsu does like a good spec as you say and personally I`d stay away from any Celeron based PC`s/Laptops if you wanna do some powerful editing stuff on it and pay a little bit more for a dual core w/ 2gb of memory.

Cheap Rechargeable Batteries at Lidl
In my local (Derby) Lidl today they`re selling some decent looking Nimh rechargeable batteries for £1.99 for a set of 4 AA (2500mAh) or AAA (900mHa), think they went on offer today as a "special".
Anyhow, here`s the link.....

RE: Accidently erased from exsistance.
Don`t panic just yet....my suggestion would be to have a look inside the pc case and make sure that there are 2 cables are securely attached to the cd drive, even if they look connected its worth taking them out and plugging them back in.
Hope this helps
RE: Anyone From Whitley Bay?
I can agree with those comments, spent a long stag weekend up in the Bay a few years ago now and can still remember the hospitality and friendliness received by the locals. Pretty sure I didn`t see an unhappy face while there, apart from the groom who got (accidently) kicked in the nuts by a stripper in the club :)
RE: Cheap external storage 250GB USB/Firewire from £15.64
I had the re-estimated delivery email which sorta got my hopes up but then 10 minutes later I recieved the cancellation order, still worth a shot though & I wonder if my quidco will still come through? (A whopping 67p might I add) :)
RE: Anyone renewed there car tax online?
I received my new Tax disc the very next day after renewing online, couldn`t believe how easy & simple it was to be honest. Hopefully you`ll get yours soon enough however the postal strikes may find a way to mess that up.
RE: So... what are you playing just now?
Having a blast on Flatout: Ultimate Carnage.....good smash-em-up fun but I find it does have some frustrating/dodgy collision detection at times, usually on the last corner in a race >:( .Would recommend a download of the demo to anyone who liked any of the Destruction Derby series on the PS1 though.
RE: One game away from glory
Still find it hard to believe that Derby are on their way to the Play-off Final at Wembley, who`da thought that they would have a season like they have so far? Great atmosphere and great game last night, wouldn`t like to have been a Southampton fan.
RE: New Laptop - advice needed
Ram is the kind of memory with which you can physically upgrade a PC whereas cache memory is non-upgradeable and is used as priority memory when the CPU is processing....or something.

RE: New Laptop - advice needed
Riggs, this laptop may be useful to you, looks a bit of a bargain especially when using Google Checkout. I would probably recommend at least an extra 512mb of memory unless you install XP on it, doesnt have any Office software with it though. Have just noticed it comes with a free laptop bag too.
Hope this helps

RE: whoot - big in Japan
I`d love to go to Japan for a holiday or even better on a business trip, the girlfriend has a mate who lives in Osaka who apparantly lives in a house which is about the same size as a box of matches
RE: Gamercard signatures not working?
Here`s a reasonable explanation for all this

RE: Great weekend of Football Action
Derby were indeed lucky especially as the ref disallowed Rover`s seemingly ok goal, still not sure why. Let`s see what/who the next round brings......
RE: Micky
Perhaps Doc you could come to Saltergate and try a Tikka Pukka if Leicester are unfortunate enough to come join us in League One, just as long as we don`t end up being relegated of course. I personally hope Leicester stay up to be honest but you never know.
RE: Micky
Well said NTG, I live 5 minutes from Pride Park and sometimes go to watch Derby play, usually when my main supported team of Chesterfield are playing too far away from home. Derby`s Tikka pies aren`t as nice though imho. :)

RE: 24 - Series 5 (The last series shown) half price
Just noticed an advert in the Sun newspaper for boxsets of 24 Seasons 1-5 priced at £20 at Asda, I assume these are instore only and would also guess its a nationwide offer. Can anyone confirm please?

RE: whats the best charger set for wireless 360 joypad???
I normally just press the `Xbox` button to bring up the side menu and the battery power icon appears in the top left corner.

RE: The what are you playing tonight thread.
Ayup, just bought PES6 for the 360 and wondered if its possible to have more than 2 players in a match on Live? Also, looking to see if anyone`s up for a game or two?
Cheers

RE: Anyone have a G6 lite for your Nintendo DS?
I can heartily recommend a M3 mini SD flash cart with Passcard bundle that I use with a 1gb Kingston card. Plays everything I`ve tried so far, the only downside to it was having to buy another set for myself being as the missus has hijacked mine purely to play Boggle! It does play GBA games too but is limited to 4mb roms. By the way I bought mine for £35 from MrModChips.
:)
