...aged 40 of breast cancer.

Very sad. Has there ever been a more fanciable Blue Peter presenter?

She was actually 42 when she died. Still far too young...

That`s odd, the BBC news report gives her age as 42, but her page on the BBC Blue Peter site gives her date of birth as October 5th 1963.

Either way, still very sad.

That`s really sad. :( I used to watch Blue Peter way back when she was on it.

Perhaps time to bring up the Cancer thing for all those unused cpu cycles?

Got to feel sorry for her family, must be awful to lose your mother when you (and she) are so young. :(

Genuinely shaken by this. Thoughts are with her family and her Mum Gloria.

she was 40, according to the date of birth I`ve read, just a few months older than me.

Very sad news, poor girl.

Yes, this is very sad news. I could hardly believe it when I read it on the Yahoo homepage.

I`m 34 and already disillusioned with our workaholic lifestyles, this only goes to prove that life really is VERY short, it`s not a practice run.

When you visit inland villages on Greek and Spanish islands and see all the old folk outside, sipping coffee and playing backgammon you really have to wonder if we are heading in the right direction with all the peer pressure to be successful/wealthy and all that comes with it.

Personally, I am happy to plod along with a very modest income but have lots of time to spend with my family and especially my 11 month old daughter - time is one thing you cannot get back and I`m sure a lot of people go to their graves regretting working all the hours under the sun, and then dying 2 years after retiring.

Rest in Peace Caron
