RE: Any experts on typefaces?

It looks not a million miles away from a heavy version of Helvetica with pretty condensed character spacing.

If you`re using MS Word try Arial Black, and condense the spacing by about 3 or 4 pts.

RE: Champions League Final (Contains spoilers)

Anyone wanna buy a bus? Going cheap!!

RE: Can anyone recommend me some software for video editing?

Ulead Videostudio or Adobe Premiere Elements are worth looking at.

You should be able to download 1-month trials from Ulead or Adobe, iirc.

RE: RIP: My mum

Condolences from me too.

Nick.

RE: Epson printers and photo output issues.

Are you printing directly from Windows Picture Viewer when you`re getting the darker photos?

It happened to me too. Are you using the most up to date printer drivers/version of Windows?

This i did not know. This could explain why U2 are consistently included in lists of best British rock groups and such and such.

Yeah, The Edge was born in Essex, and at least one of his parents is Welsh. Adam Clayton was also born in England.

Both moved to Dublin when they were pretty young, though...

Secondly, if you were in anyway a sensible football fan then you would realise that its Kaka. There is no space in his name Pa Ull

If you want to be a tiresome pedant, it`s actually Kaká.

RE: Will the French elect a GILF as President?

Aye, she certainly looks as if she could teach you a thing or two... 8) ;)

Not sure what happened then. Didn`t mean to post twice - sorry!

Their website looks a bit pikey. Has anyone ever ordered anything from them before?

I bought an iRiver from them a few weeks ago - no problems. It was described as a factory refurb, but was near as dammit good as new.

You`re right, though, that`s not the world`s greatest website.

RE: Guitar effects pedals...

Maybe a bit of Chorus? Or Reverb?

A matter of taste, really. Try before you buy!

Yup, it was written into the bill of rights at a time when the british weren`t too happy with Washington and his lot nay-saying the crown. Oh, and those pesky natives were being troublesome, too.

Was it not also before there was any kind of established federal army, so they needed a quick way of putting together an armed response to outside invasion? May have been relevant then, sure isn`t now.

And the "guns don`t kill people, people do" argument is utterly specious tosh. Would yesterday`s nutcase have killed 32+ without a firearm? I don`t think so, somehow.

RE: Chocolate quiz help needed!

I reckon "Leeds and Manchester" will be United

"I am the boss
and some things make me cross
but even I`m delighted
to eat United!"

Is that them all, now?

I was unfortunate to hear on the radio today that `Golden Brown` has been royally f*cked by some tosspot
Yeah, it`s "No More" by Jamelia, which is based around Golden Brown.

It`s pretty unlistenable.

Well this alleged Murdoch scare mongering must of affected the BBC and ITV as it`s on their channels, or is Murdoch secretly controlling those companies as well.

It`s hardly a secret that Murdoch owns 18% of ITV.

It`d be a very sad day indeed if Murdoch managed to get the BBC spouting his self-serving propaganda.

Maybe Gillian McKeith should be sent round as punishment!

His mother may be a feeble-minded, ignorant, chain-smoking Orc, but nobody deserves that kind of punishment!

RE: So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu :(

Bon voyage and bon anniversaire! ;)

RE: Is it possible to buy a car door?

Maybe you could get one from a car boot sale?

No....wait...... :/

I`ll get me coat....

The Mobile Outlet

What sort of reputation do this lot have? Are they likely to try and wriggle out of cashbacks etc.?

RE: Anna Nicole Smith Dead!!!

It`s still a "more soon", so it doesn`t yet have its own page.

She was one sad, messed up individual.

EDIT: CNN link here.

When I lived in Birmingham, theres a real rivalry as Manchester are always trying to `steal their crown`.

Manchester are always scuppered in the "second city" race as a large chunk of it is, strictly speaking, Salford.

I think Leeds is technically bigger than Manchester.

RE: Help needed! - flight time difference query

Florida is 5 hours behind GMT, as is Atlanta.

So why should Clarkson be treated differently to Jade, shouldn`t he be dragged through gutter press like Jade?

I think what Clarkson said was pretty crass but it could be classified as "jocular banter" and not really intended as serious. It`s all part of his "I`m not PC and I don`t care" schtick. I`m not mad keen on the bloke myself, but I think most people realise where he`s coming from, and that maybe his tongue might just have been in his cheek.

I don`t think Jade`s a card-carrying member of the National Front, but she`s an ignorant and belligerent no-mark, and her racist comments did have a pretty freudian quality to them. Hopefully that`s her ugly mug out of my face for the foreseeable future.

RE: Big Train.

A herd of jockeys being stalked by The Artist Formerly Known As Prince.

RE: Big Train.

The sketch with Ming The Merciless in his flat doing the hoovering had me in hysterics.

RE: Pinnacle Software

10.5SE will be a "lite" version of 10.5, but should still be able to output to most standard formats as normal. I`m not familiar enough with it to be able to work out what`s going wrong for you.

FWIW I used to use Pinnacle Studio 8 but it was so unreliable and buggy (I spent several weeks editing a home movie and it crashed whenever I tried to render it for DVD) I ditched it for Ulead VideoStudio (which did the job perfectly, although I had to restart the project from scratch). I`ve since moved on to Adobe Premiere Elements.
