ROTK: Christopher Lee is NOT in it!!
I just heard on the news Sourman (C.Lee) is not in the final movie. How, HOW can they do that? The story is set (in the books) and surly the charecter MUST have a part to play.

i have every confidence that peter jackson has made the right decision. if saruman`s scene disrupted the balance of the movie then it would have to be taken out.
and anyway.....it`s gonna turn up on the ROTK extended cut dvd.....so it`ll be seen eventually.

Well the ROTK cinema version will be three & a half hours long, so the extended version will require bladder control or keep a bucket handy :)

You could just go when you get up to change the disc half way through... :D

I watched The Two Towers at a little cinema in Elland near Halifax. They stopped the film half way through for a loo break and a keeora. Took me back a bit. Great idea, didn`t upset me a bit. Plan on watching ROTK in the same cinema.
RE: ROTK: Christopher Lee is NOT in it!!
I think `Return of the King` is going to end up something like 190-195 minutes, that`s about the most New Line would probably allow without an intermission... and that`s just not going to happen. As for Christopher Lee`s cuts, I hear he`s not happy about it, and why would he be? But given that reckless editing killed any dramatic rhythm in `The Two Towers`, the more stream-lined the narrative, the better.

RE: ROTK: Christopher Lee is NOT in it!!
From what I heard, Christopher Lee`s scenes in ROTK only added up to about seven minutes and were intended to be included at the start of the movie as a pre-amble/ tie-up of loose ends from TTT. As it was, the scenes should really have been put on the end of TTT to tie that up properly. Peter Jackson says (via AICN) that he cut the scenes with great regret, but they felt out of place. He intends to restore them to the extended cut and I suspect virtually everybody intending to buy the discs will keep him to that.
I saw Mr Lee on This Morning and I felt put out for him.
BTW, does anybody know how to nominate somebody for the Queen`s Honours as I think it`s criminal he hasn`t been recognised for his contribution to British Cinema when lesser actors have been awarded knighthoods.

Thats ridiculous, firstly they cut the saruman scurging the shire, then they cut their alternate ending at isengard.
how the hell do they get their hands on the friggin palantiir then >:(
and how the hell could they be out of place if an important piece of the story "The Palantiir" is thrown by wormtongue at Gandalf in freakin Isengard.
horse sh*t!
Im p*ssed now >:(

Peter Jackson may have indeed f***ed up badly with this move - cuttign Sauraman from this film is ridiculous. Its the sort of thing you expect an American director to do.
Jesus - didn`t he actually read the books? Sauraman is an important character, how the hell will he explain what happened - he disappeared in a puff of smoke?
