What was your first live concert?

I saw Slade live at birmingham odeon in 1974. I was a teen and won the tickets on a local station (BRMB). From the first scream from noddy holder to the last encore of mama weer all crazy now, it was music energy at its best. I have been to many concerts since but this concerts memories are still very vivid.

Happy, I have read your post with envy. I would have loved to have been there. Unfortunately my first was June 1972...........The New Seekers at some Theatre in Glasgow (I`ve been trying to forget it for the past 31 years) I suppose at the time it was good. I was with my Mother, who had organised it for the local Residents Club. I couldn`t exactly not go.

Cheers, Marty :)

Just because you`re paranoid, doesn`t mean they`re NOT out to get you! :)

David Bowie Sound and Vision Tour at Milton Keynes.

It was the last time Mr. Bowie would sing any of his old songs, but he still keeps singing them.

Think it was OMD in about 1983. Saw them a fair few times afterwards and they (Andy McCluskey in particular) always put on a fantastic show, full of energy.
Electricity, Messages, Telegraph, Joan of Arc, Enola Gay. They wrote some classics.

Into different music now but might just have to go and dig out some vinyl.. :)

I was a late starter, really - never went to gigs in my teens or early 20s, as I was a bedroom-dwelling wallflower who eschewed raucousness of any description.

So... my first live concert was Pulp, at the Manchester Apollo, in late `98. I remember that they had a Jarvis lookalike on stage to do `The Fear`, and I couldn`t figure out which one was real. :)

Since then I`ve never looked back - been to loads of gigs, and met a fantastic Scouse bird who has dragged me to two Glastonburys!

Mike
