RE: Lego Indiana Jones - awesome

Just played the first level on the 360 and it`s just the same great fun as Star Wars.
Will venture back later when the little ones finished watching Wonder Pets.

Sydney Pollack RIP

Down the Swannie River? ;)

There`s a great mooring spot near to St. Margarets Pastures, just past the toilet block. :o

RE: Fly The Flag

Please do not post pictures of that Union Jack as i find it very hurtful. The PC Brigade shall be contacted in due course ;)

RE: Baby names...Sara Cox...oh dear...

I think the worst news is that she`s returning back to work.
She`s the worst f***ing DJ going.

RE: 1m PS3s sold in the UK

Come on. Of cause the prices for discs will come down......But not here in the UK. We pay for the rest of the world to have a cheap product. VAT is the problem apparently, MY ARSE is it.

RE: NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE.... YES THREE...

This is MY opinion and i think the rules say someting on the lines of " if a player is deemed to be conning the ref into giving a penalty and is not succesful, a yellow card will be given". IE diving in the area, looking gobsmacked and close to tears when the decision is not in your favour.
Now, if Rob Stiles thought it was not a penalty and waved play on but Ronaldo sat there gesturing for him to be given a foul in the area then surely he should have been booked?
It`s not just him, all teams do it and it`s about time the refs did something about it.
Fooking Poof.
Also, i remember reading before the season started that Ronnie would shave all his hair off if he scored 20 league goals this season. 4 to go.

And if i was driving that Veyron i would have ran the pr1ck over.

"Some people tend to believe the grass is greener on the other side. It isn't, of course.

Just as some people think the grass is greener in the UK."

If thats true, why have the immigrants not f***ed off yet? There still coming and not going home.
Of course, silly me.....free handouts.

RE: Postal question

No deliverys at all on sunday from Royal Mail. We are working as normal on monday.
I`m still waiting on 2 parcels from Amazon. They where sent monday with a Super Saver Delivery Carrier. 1 of the items was sent seperate on tuesday and i got that on thursday.

RE: Postal question

We generally hang on to it if we know you are closed over the xmas period. If you are not there and the they do attempt delivery, then you may get a red card saying it has been taken back to the depot. If it is recorded delivery then they are kept for 1 week whilst all other items are kept for 3 weeks (why this is i don`t know),
Exceptions are made this time of year and so i wouldn`t worry about it being returned yet.

Here`s a big cheers to the good Dr 42%er (the original and best)

Having got extremly annoyed with my little girl of 2 for rubbing her sticky fingers over my 37" LG LCD screen, i was at a loss as what to do.
I paid a visit to 42%er MD and he has now sold me a product which has completly restored my screen to new.
Thanks for that, i will now recommend the product (and your shop) to friends who are in need.

RE: Super Mario Galaxy - the reviews are coming in

Picked mine up from Toys `R` Us in Leicester for £28.87. Bargain!!!

RE: x box

Try shopto.net they have some really cheap 360 offers. Some are saving 20% off cost price.
Premium comes with 20gig HD and the new V2 model has HDMI.
Elite is black, has an 120gig HD and also has HDMI.
The arcade is aimed at familys and comes with ten free games and has no HD but a memory card.
There is an HALO console which is green and has (i think) the 20gig HD and HALO 3 game. Also comes with HDMI.

RE: Yet More Postal Strikes...Bloody Marvelous!

My Brothers Girlfriend had to ring a few cheap, mail stealing companys that are alternatives to RM and costing us millions in LOST mail revenue the other day for some important documents to be collected and delivered. She was told by nearly all of them that "they couldn`t guarantee when it would be delivered as they use RM for delivery of the items they collect."
So, just because they are cheaper, they still use us for the"FINAL MILE".
Also, the £8 million pound second class contract with Amazon we lost to TNT, that`s right you guessed it, WE STILL F***ING DELIVER IT. It just has TNT labels on instead of RM.
it`s about time this country was aware more about the postal service we deliver. We may be losing government cotracts and other utility companys, but we are still the company these undercutting c***s use to deliver it. THATS WHY THEY ARE CHEAP.
Bring on the Poles, have my job but you will not have a postal service.

RE: Wii Lightsaber game confirmed

It would be even cooler if you could buy a "lightsaber " wiimote. Not just a wiimote painted black but a proper looking one. Also, have a different coloured tube so you can select who you want to play as.

RE: FAO: Whoot and other Londoners, help please!

Taxi should be around the £10 mark, maybe less. Hope you enjoy Mary Poppins. I went last year and had a great time, just don`t nip in the bar next door ;)

RE: Hyde Park Calling

Yes me and two others are also going sunday. I`ve not seen Aerosmith since Monsters back in ` 94.

RE: Indy 4 Anticipation thread

Floyd..... Get a life and get over Star Wars. ;)

RE: Stupid f***ing postie

Not all posties have a 2nd job. I know of only 2 who do and that`s only mowing lawns in the summer. And i know a f***ing lot of posties.
Most like the hours because there wife/partners work in the afternoon or full time and they are home to pick the kids up from school and enjoy time with them. Working 9-5 and then packing your kids off to bed at 7pm is not much fun for a parent.
Sue`s comment with regards to posties going through bags of mail "That is a sackable offence if reported. Too many of them do it these days."
NOT ALL POSTIES ARE THE SAME!!!!!
There is a very, very small percentage of them who possibly do this but please don`t paint the picture that most do it. It`s mainly the casual immigrant who don`t give a toss about you or your mail. Just there to make easy money to send back home.

RE: Stupid f***ing postie

Having been a postie for nearly 18 years i have seen a lot of change in this time. The postie who says he can`t live on £21k must work in London as they get paid more than the rest of the country.
The problem with the current situation is not just about pay, it`s about the "strings" attached to it.
When we last had a major overhaul of the company about 3-4 years ago our leader Alan Leighton said "if you agree to 1 delivery a day instead of 2, work a 5 day week then you have JOB AND FINISH". This means as soon as you finish walking the streets, even if it is 2 hours early, you can go home. They now want to change this and loads of other conditions which will have major downsides to working for Royal Mail.
In fairness to some people who do finish early, this is sometimes because they start before there official time and so make up the hours before they are OFFICIALLY contracted too.
Strike action is the last resort, the ballot was more about getting RM to see that enough is enough.
Where i work in Leicester, we have had 6 full time duties taken away in the form of savings, and now there is not enough staff to deliver the mail and for the last few months Managers are expected to go out and deliver mail at no cost to the business, even if it means going over there finish time. All because the person in charge has put a hold on recruitment for the last 12 months.
We don`t want to go on strike but it is about time RM put it`s workers first instead of paying people like Crozier £15,164 a week.

RE: Should I get HD-Dvd add on for Xbox 360?

Oaklands Right.
I paid £108 incl Taxes from FAO in NY. Films are cheap as well. You pay more for HD DVD combo discs but not that much. M:I 3 is awesome in HD and you can see a big difference in quality over standard DVD. Argos are currently selling the player for £119.99.
There is no longer a free movie with it but it cheaper than GAME who have put the price up to £135. Robbing Bastards!!

RE: POLL: How many people bought/will buy PS3s

I know of only 1 person who has purchased a PS3. Nearly all the hardcore gamers at my work have been put off by the price and lack of backwards compatability. It may seem a lame excuse about not being able to play old games but these are people with young kids who play on the PS2 and there`s not enough room under the telly for 2 consoles.
The lad from work who got the PS3 is only buying it for Blu-Ray. He had COD3 with it and he`s told his brothers that if they want it to play games, then they can cough up the money for them.
After a quick visit into my local HMV and Virgin stores yesterday, i was shocked at the price of Blu-Ray and HD DVD movies. £30 for World Trade Center, £28 for Superman Returns ( i paid $34 in NY at new year). It may be that you can get a Blu-Ray player for cheap but your going to have to pay highly to watch anything on it.

RE: Help on getting team sponsorship???

"How cool would that be. Being sponsored by a big "cool" band. Failing that I have Dave from Shawadywady`s number"

If they sponsor you then you could wear the multi-coloured jackets like they do. But to get Kasabian would be cracking, as long as none of the kids have a "Club Foot" ;)

PS3 pre order... Why are they not all gone yet???

With only 15 days left until release, why have so many online and instore retailers still have them available for March 23rd?
When i got my email from Game saying that i could now pre-order (with the option of only 2 packages) i went ahead and done it within 4 minutes of receiving the e-mail.
Now looking at Game`s website you have more choice on what to have package wise and also they are not sold out yet. Unlike the Wii (which you still can`t get) and the 360, launch date was sold out well in advance and you had to wait a while for the next batch.
Have Sony made more for release date than the others or is price putting people off?
I have now cancelled my order because i`m in no rush for 1, i`m happy with my Wii and 360 and don`t think i`ll have time for another console in my life at this moment.

RE:

Having been to ground zero and looking at the diagram of where the buildings are located, the area is not that big as you would believe. Building 7 is probably further away than the buildings opposite buildings 6 ,1 and 3 and yet these where hardly damaged at all. I`m not saying it was a conspiracy, just pointing out that WTC 7 was destroyed by falling debris and the resulting fires ,yet nearly all the other buildings around ground zero (which there are many) never suffered the same fate.

RE: Jezza Nails It

"2: I am not a public figure that loads of kids look up to."]
No but a lot of us on here look up to the MAN WITH THE COD as a local hero, a crime fighter of the highest calibre. And who the f*** looks up to Piggy as a role model?

RE: Off to New York in March and want some cheap clothes, any ideas?

I have just come back from New York and can highly recommend Macy`s Dept Store.
If you go to the 1st floor customer service desk, and show either your passport or photo drivers licence they give you a card which entitles you to 11% off all goods in store except perfume and makeup.
Designer clothes are so cheap you won`t believe it. I got Tommy Hilfiger Jeans, t-shirt and jumper for £50. I also got (amongst other things) a Ralph Lauren hooded top for £25. In House of Fraser the same 1 is £65.
Also, if you have an Xbox 360, go to FAO Schwarz on 5th Ave and buy the HD DVD drive for £108. They work in the uk and they have plenty in stock.

RE: People parking on my drive. Help.

Have a sunken remote bollard fitted, and when they park over the space, release the beast into the bottom of there car.
