Swap Magic 3.0 with sliding tool

deano59 (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 2nd December 2004, 00:21

Does this mean I don`t need to get a flip lid for my PS2? Does anyone know where I should buy this product from?

Best Wishes

Dan

Yeah you wont need a fliptop, you just need to take off the front of the disk tray. Really easy to do and comes with full instructions. Worked with everything i have ever tried (back ups, EA Imports) except for James Bond Everything or Nothing.

I bought mine about 3 months ago from PSX Services (see Daywalker`s link above).

It`s worked perfectly so far. Removing the DVD tray cover is probably the hardest part. I was worried it would break but it came off OK eventually.

Does this system allow you to go online with `backup games` without being thrown off? Is it the chip that is being detected or the disc?

Thanks from Pete

Hi folks, this is my first post here.
I just thought that I would post my method of playing my backup games.
(which are infact backups of my own legally owned games, pirates DIE !!

I have a new Slimline PS2 and didnt really want to get somebody to open it up and start soldering chips in there! So I did my homework!

I now use Swap Magic 3.3 cd/dvd and a "Slim-Tool"
Basically the slimtool makes your ps2 think that the door is closed so you can swap your swap magic with your backup, and heypresto!
The site where I bought them has full instructions and diagrams, the best thing is that you can take the slimtool out and you would never have known that it was there!
Maybe this has been out for a while and I am just getting excited over something that everyone here already knows about!
Anyway, I hope to visit here often so if anybody has any questions, just ask.
here is that site with the instructions

www.Pop-UK.info

You can also buy the set here, hehe I should ask for commission. lol

i bought a slim tool from www.ps2slimtool.co.uk.tc

had no probs at all with it, unlike the magic switch that lasted two days in my new ps2.
i had my order delivered three days after payment, and i received it by recorded delivery.
the postage was free.
carry on gaming

Someone told me that on the slim PS 2 u need to change some electronics to alter the on/off switch function. Is this required at all or is it just a question of fitting the Swap Tools?

no internal adjustments were neccesary, all i had to do with the slim tool was clip the tools in place and away i went.

i got mine from www.ps2slimtool.co.uk.tc, the owner Ray was very helpful, he wasn`t selling singles at first, there was a min order of ten, but now sells singles.
