Aye,I`ve just gone to them and I`m having the same problem.I`m trying to link through a new wireless router but with no luck yet.It took them about 2 months to swap me over from BT too........so so far the service has been terrible.... :(

The footie manager one is about the best released on a console and Full Auto is fun for a few minutes at a time.

Mercenaries is brill if you like open blowy-uppy games.You can get it for about 6 quid now.Elder Scrolls Morrowind isn`t bad for an RPG.Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a fun action platformer and I like the ancient game Pirates Legend of Black Kat which is another fighty searchy game.

If you have any interest at all in RPG`s Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion is the one to get.It has beautiful graphics....with lush forests complete with swaying branches,deer etc.
In my opinion definitely the one to impress your mates with.

No.....you`re right......it looks a lot better than Far Cry.You carry on with your HMV Top 20 games and I`ll carry on with the actual games that float my boat.

Just seen some preview pics and description in one of the mags.......it looks brilliant.Over 1000 square miles of mapped jungles,villages etc.Use any vehicle a la GTA,shoot and destroy anything a la Mercenaries.It has the promise to be the best X-box title yet.

Also Rogue Galaxy should be coming soon to the PS2.It`s a beautiful looking action RPG from the people who did the stonking Dragon Quest 8.All the battles are in real time though and you can swim,climb etc etc.

The old consoles still have a couple of beauties up their sleeves.... :B

:D .The obvious comment for this thread Mark.It`s become almost anti-social not to speed..... :/ (u try mentioning it at your local).I drive at around 30 in towns,55-60 on country A-roads and around 70 on motorways.I am just about the slowest thing on the roads in this area (besides the odd tractor).

Driving fast has become the coolest thing you can do nowadays.The mere mention of facts similar to the ones I`ve just said above is enough to receive hatred from a good percentage of people. :/

Yey.....Elder Scrolls 4 looks ace, Boo......The Outfit looks crappola.

The two big games I was looking forward to are just about out now for the 360.If both were good I might have been tempted to actaully get a 360!

Elder Scrolls 4 looks an absolute belter..... with the only downside being no multiplayer.
The Outfit I hoped would be a souped up Mercenaries, but the one-player game looks totally linear :( The multiplayer looks fun though.... :¦

I`ve got a couple of those games......Phantom Brave and Disgaea......but never quite got round to giving them a proper go.I tried a while back but they have a fairly high learning curve......u are bombarded with rules etc straight off the bat.It shouldn`t be a problem if you`ve played loads of similar ones though (they`re a lot more complicated than the Fire Emblem games).

Then of course there`s the Shadow Heart games,Xenosagas,Arc the Lad,Digital Devil Sagas,Suikodens,Breath of Fires,Wild Arms`s etc etc.Drakan Ancients Gate is a very old but still good action RPG.

I think a score of 10 means the game is as good or better than anything currently on the market......not necessarily perfect.I remember Conker on the N64 getting 99% a few years back....whereas now it would be lower. :B

On Metacritic (that averages out review scores) it`s just got a whopping 99% with totally stellar write-ups......looks like the PS2 might go out kicking and screaming rather than whimpering to mummy. 8)

I am not lucky enough to have a PSP (although I do have a DS).There are no decent RPGs on the thing yet although I think there`s a game based on the Sword of Mana coming out soon.I just saw a copy of Sword of Mana for the SNES for £60 in gamestation!

The Level 5 type of games are one difference between the PS2 and X-box.The PS2 must have at least 20 decent ones whereas the X-box has.......em.......none really.

The games are like 3-D versions of the old-school SNES rpgs like Breath of Fire etc.The battle systems are not as complex as the Final Fantasy types but there is always something different to see and do and you don`t really get that `what the chuff do I do next` feeling.

U might have to consider a late PS2 purchase, now u can get the games for peanuts. :B

The game coming out is called Rogue Galaxy.It`s already out it Japan.It returns to a Dark Cloud style of fighting, with real time battles.The graphics look great and you can jump,swim etc this time.
It certainly has the potential to be one of the Top 5 games released on the PS2.It will probably be like Conker,Paper Mario and Majoras Mask on the N64........released right at the end of the consoles life and left largely unplayed.Only later will it become a must have for `retro` gamers.

I`m about half way through and have just received a large boat in which to explore the world.Beware though.....don`t just land on any old island because some of the monsters will mash u quickly.

I have also seen reviewed in Games magazine a very similar game to this but set in space.It got 9/10 which is great for this mag.It`s one to look out for......although I seem to be the only one looking.... (:¦

I`ve now managed to start playing the US version and it`s pretty good.The graphics are very good for the PS2.
I`m having trouble with a couple of things though.......so far it`s 100% linear.....there are set paths along which u have to travel.The fighting system can get very chaotic even early on.In about the third fight some kind of boomerang light thingy came out of nowhere and killed two of the party on the spot.
It`s probably only compared to Dragon Quest 8 where the fighting is pretty basic and easy.
I`ll try and stick with it for a while.

I would agree.......Murderball and Grizzly Man were a lot better than all the other recent fictional films I`ve seen.Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill was also quite good although not as thought provoking as some.
True life when filmed well is more interesting and as weird as any comic book inspired movie.
Many documentaries are more passionate and immediate than many of the films that have to go through 15 levels of censors,committees etc.

Congrats on your purchase.

There are really only 3 decent games out at the mo` for the 360: Call Of Duty 2,Project Gotham 3 and Perfect Dark Zero.As you say though.....these are all based on previous gen games and aren`t massively original.

It seems that March is the time when quality games are going to start to be released.There are 6 or 7 that look promising including Saint`s Row,the Outfit and Elder Scrolls 4.

I`m holding back purchasing a 360 until a couple of absolute stunners come out.

Nice one Magic.....it`s a good game.Have u got to the early level where each stage is on a different side of a cube and even when u complete them u have to go back and redo them to collect more?
It`s varied stuff and pretty addictive.

Tourist Trophy on the PS2......anyone tried it?

This game for the PS2 is supposed to be like Grand Turismo but for bikes.
It`s got some great reports and it`s one of the few PS2 games u can play in high-def.....there is one slight prob though.......it`s only out in Chinese or Japanese and there are no plans to bring it out over here...... (:¦ ....booo!

There also seem to be a lot of excellent role playing games coming soon on the PS2 just before it`s last breath (Grandia 3,Tales of Rebirth,Dragon Quest 8 etc etc).

Have to complain about Mean Creek.........compared to some of the other classics.This is in the modern breed of film that has zero depth and let`s the viewer come up with dozens of `hidden` meanings that are simply not there..........fat kid bullies little kid,fat kid is killed, little kid feels sorry.....end of the lousy story.

I would like to mention one.....Grizzly Man.......not your conventional psycho thriller granted......but certainly fits the criteria and is a film never to be forgotten.
