Page 1 of GTA3 PC VERSION HELP NEEDED????

I`ve basucally just started to use the cheats on the pc version of GTA 3 and have typed in the cheat "nobodylikesme" which is where all the other pedestrians dont like me and attack my character in the game.
The only problem is i cant seem to turn this cheat off and after a while it gets very annoying being battered by all the other characters....can anyone help me out here or somehow tell me how to deactivate the cheat.

Uh-oh... hope you saved before you entered the cheat! I don`t know for sure, but on the PS2 version, this cheat is permanent if you save with it activated.

Be really careful which cheats you use. Loads of people have screwed up their GTA progress by using cheats - some of them cause glitches and can`t be deactivated once entered, so if you haven`t kept a cheat-free saved game, you`ve got to start over.

The cheats are great fun, just don`t save after using some of them! (Simple cheats like health, armor, wanted level etc. are OK.)

Has anyone else had the problem of this game running like a dog on the PC. I have a P3 1Ghz, 128mbram, and a 32mb Gforce 2 card. Do I need a serious upgrade or is this game just much much better on the PS2?

It runs just as smoothly as the PS2 version for me, but then that`s with:

Athlon XP1800+
256MB RAM
64MB Geforce 3

A bit more RAM would probably help you. Also, which version of the Geforce 2 do you have?

Mine runs smoother than the PS version. Dunno wot specs l got apart fom P4 2.53!

I`ve got 1.4 Athlon, 512MB RAM and 64 MB card (only G-Force 2 though..:-( )
Without taking the resolution down it`s unplayable. Hate it when it rains even now!
Not bad game though.

Tazz - there`s no way your PC will handle GTA3 very well - it`s a very demanding game.

You`ll have to reduce the resolution, and the view distance, and whatever you do make sure you have 16bit colour and NO antialiasing or anisotropic filtering on (in the Display Control Panel).

The other thing you could try is something called the `high FPS patch` which is floating around. It`s a hack which removes some of the superfluous graphical details such as rain and waste paper, and therefore frees up processor and graphical power for the main game.

Basically, however, for a smooth game, you are really looking at a minimum of 1.4ghz+ CPU, 128MB+ memory and a Geforce3 or higher card.

i have a AMD Athlon 1600 XP with Geforce 2 MX400 + 320mb SDRAM and it`s runs slower than the PS2 version.

Any help?

probably need better graphics card thats all,geforce 4 something
i got athlon 2200 512 ddr ram geforce 4 ti4600 and even still only just runs at round 30 fps on highest res, this game performs generally quite crap,even though great game.
