Just received `The Two Towers`!!

James Cheevers (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 16th August 2003, 10:22

It arrived this morning ahead of a couple of discs that I`d ordered before it. Is anyone else experiencing problems with Movietymes shipping?

Anyway, as expected, the transfer is beautiful and flciking forward to the main battle all the details are clear. Now I have to wait for my wife to come home later to watch the whole thing.

The new clips from the Extended edition and `The Return of the King` look really good. They began to tease a look at Shelob but it didn`t transpire... shame.

I may post something a bit more detailed later after watching it in full

I have had the trwo towers for 5 months. It is on verified dowloads .com along with other movies that are not out yet on DVD. It was copied from DVD to AVI using DVDx. Then, all you have to do is put it back through a dvd encription and there you have it. check it out, LONG LIVE KAZAA

And it`s also been available from flag flying seafarers, car boot sales and ebay for months as well.

Fine if you want a screener or loss in quality but I prefer to stick with the genuine article and await the EE in November :p

And of course copying to MPEG2 to DivX (or some other AVI) format and then back again doesn`t degrade the image quality at all, and I`m sure it has a DTS track too. :p

So stop waving that willy around, because it really isn`t that big.

Hope the picture quality is up there with the Oscars screener that I watched some time ago at a friends (fantastic picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 -shame about the `for your consideration` captions ).
I`ll probably be waiting until the extended version comes out in November before I purchase.
Also hope it doesn`t have faults with the Dolby Digital which plagued FOTR.

I`ve had this on DVD for 9 months from Long John Silver or Back Of A Lorry or downloaded it from bogbrush.com and it`s got DD9.3, Super DTS etc. etc.

Carry on posting, it`s useful for us that have orders in !

I find it useful info as well. Although I have decided to wait for the R2 version of the theatrical release. If I`m happy with that then I will buy the R2 Extended Cut in November. If, however, the R2 version of Two Towers is not up to scratch (you know, those `audio flaws`) then I`ll buy the R1 Extended Cut ;)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)
