Page 1 of Black Friday deals
Bargain Buckets Forum
Am i missing out... i haven't seen a single thing yet that has tempted me?
Biggest retail day of the year... not in this house.
I find that the magic is somewhat taken out of it by stores advertising their big deals a week or two in advance, sometimes as early as October.
Something I was going to buy today at a pretty decent price (some new RAM) was already sold out last night because it was on offer price all week long.

Not sure about the 'magic', but it is annoying now that Black Friday appears to have morphed into a national retail DFS sale...

ppl have realised it's a con? On the radio they were discussing how Which published their findings on last year, where most Black Friday sale items had been cheaper a month before, and again a few weeks after black Friday

some of the whisk(e)y deals at Amazon have been pretty good, but there's always discounts on spirits close to Christmas, various bottles £10 off, some of which aren't the ones frequently reduced in supermarket.
this one i spotted from hukd is pretty good, I'm not a fan of normal jd but this is nice.

"have looked at a few reconditioning sites also"A tech journo I follow never buys anything but recons.
As long as you get it from a decent supplier not 'Fred's Recons' in a back street.
I'd say pretty well anything you buy these days would be capable of what you need it for.

dell outlet is worth a look as is

as I told my boss the other day when he says his kid wants a laptop - just for homework, if he's not expecting to play fortnite then as Snaps says more or less anything will do, you obviously want value for money, but if you're not sitting there with 10 laptops in front of you running benchmarks then you won't know :)
when I bought the missus' laptop I kept an eye on hotukdeals and bought an HP from ebuyer, I think around £300, that was a few years ago, the battery no longer works very well, but apart from that it's fine :)
just ignore the comments like "this is rubbish it's not a mac book pro/won't play super new FPS at 10 gazillion frames per second at 2000k hd res" which you wouldn't expect at £500 :)
be careful with the black friday deals, yes some laptops are 1/2 price, but that's cos they're 6-12 month old laptops, so the £600 for £300 is actually comparabale in terms of specs to a current £300 laptop. But as I said above, if you're not comparing, that may not matter to you :)

I got a 1TB M2 drive which is the cheapest it's ever been:

Got lots of other little things too, including an Alexa Echo Show:

So most likely depends what you are looking at. Also I'm sure they trot out that story of "Black Friday deals more expensive than normal" every year now. Also hard to trust Which completely after reading about their PR article on inaccuracies of fitness watches (which ignored GPS and only used steps, what serious runner uses steps instead of GPS???).
