Toshiba - 37C3030D or Samsung - LE37R88BD????

This is a nightmare - I only started looking for a new TV for my PS3 last week and its taken over my life!! I think I have narrowed my search down to the following 37" LCD TV`s.....

Toshiba - 37C3030D or Samsung - LE37R88BD

Neither are 1080P - and Im still thinking should I go 1080P to avoid regrets but at 37" i gather the difference is not really noticable - is this right? Also does anyone know which version of HDMI the Tosh uses ~ is it v1.3?

The new LCD will be used mostly for normal Sky+ - is the picture going to suffer badly compared to my exisiting CRT?

Thanks all

Jib

RE: Edge says PS3 23 March 07 £425

Sony have confirmed that the first 500,000 people who register their PS3 in Europe will get a copy of Casino Royale on Blu-ray (a 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc encoded in 1080P High Definition AVC).

Explaining the offer, Darren Carter, VP Brand and Consumer Marketing said, "The PLAYSTATION®Network unlocks the broad range of interactive entertainment features of PLAYSTATION 3. It's easy to set up, offers free online gaming, has great tools for staying in touch with friends and family, and includes a wide variety of content for download through the PLAYSTATION®Store."

"All this, and more, will enable users to experience a whole new world of interactive entertainment, and that is why we are offering the phenomenal incentive of Casino Royale, on Blu-ray disc, to PS3 owners who register on the PLAYSTATION®Network. Casino Royale not only makes the most of the features and capabilities of the Blu-ray format, but is one of the most exciting and entertaining movies to debut on Blu-ray this year."

* There will be no extra copies of Casino Royale available if demand exceeds 500,000.

Loose Change - Film about 9/11

Whilslt the 9/11 conspiracy theories have been aired before, the documentary `Loose Change` is available when searching on Google Video. Thought provoking and well made, worth a look if you have 90 mins to spare.

Sky Broadband Connect

I have come across Sky`s latest offer to tempt new customers to their BB service:

Sky Broadband Connect - download speeds of up to 8Mb*, and a monthly usage allowance of 40GB. To get Sky Broadband Connect for just £5 a month, with a FREE Wireless Router**, and 12 months' FREE McAfee security to help safeguard against viruses, spam and other online risks.

Looking around there appears to be some horror stories - any body else out their using Sky - good/bad?

RE: Reading Festival - Muse

Got back from Manchester after seeing Muse live, awesome show, Matt Bellamy is one hell of a talent. Muse played:

`Hysteria`
`Map Of The Problematique`
`Butterflies`
`Assassin`
`Plug In Baby`
`Muscle Museum`
`Forced In`
`Bliss`
`Feeling Good`
`Hoodoo`
`Invincible`
`Supermassive Black Hole`
`Time Is Running Out``
`Stockholm Syndrome`

Encore:
`Starlight`
`New Born`
`Knights Of Cydonia`

Massive big screen, excellent light show and some awesome guitar. If anyone can get a ticket for their remaining shows 100% recommended!

RE: a good hotel within reach of cardiff?

If still out of luck try The Regan Hotel. Guest House. 81 Cathedral Road, Cardiff, CF11 9PG. Telephone: +44(0) 29 2038 3660.

My missus stayed there for weeks on end because of work. Reasonable rates, good quality rooms. Also take a look at the SACO website - offers can often be found on there,

Why no decent Gaming shows on TV?

Many 20-40 somethings own a games console of some sort and regularly use it. The expense of games (£30-50+) and games content prove this is just not a market for youngsters. Why is it that the beeb (or any other channel) cant produce a games console & game review programme aimed at adults? The industry is now huge and is set to grow with the impending PS3 and Wii launches ~ lets have an adult orientated programme! BBC3 methinks?

Why is it such a popular past time is overlooked by the media? :B
