As a last resort as I am tearing my hair out with this..... :(

Can anybody write an IF and OR function in excel that will perform the following in an Excel spreadsheet:

E.g. IF B5 is greater than 2 or B6 is greater than 3 - B5 to double

Any help appreciated

Jib

In the cell where you want the value put

=IF(OR(B5>2,B6>3),B5*2,"")

If you want something else in the cell for when it isn`t more than 2 etc, change the "" to what you want it to be..

Hi all hope someone can help.

I would like to subtract 15% from a cell which already has a formula.

for example:

=SUM(3600/H16) This gives me an answer, but I now want to take 15% off that answer without using any other cells.

I thought =SUM(3600/H16)-1.15 would work but of course it just takes away 1.15 from the sum not 15%

H16 will be an amount gathered from another worksheet and will be different each time.

Any help would be appreciated

Carl

could you not replace the -1.15 with a *0.85?

Good thinking Batman. I was so wrapped up in trying to take off the 15% that had not even occurred to me.

Have a gold star and a brownie point. ;)
