RE: ITV HD on Sky HD

I believe you need to have the new HD EPG on your HD box. It is only been rolled out to Thompson boxes at the moment. It does not work on the old EPG

RE: Digital Photo frames

The frames you are loking at have a low resolusion 480x234.

I recently bought the frame below, which may not some features that other frames have but has the higher 480 x 800 resolution

Laptop Recommendations Required!

Looking for some help and advice. I am in the market for a laptop to replace my 5 year old desktop PC. I am looking to meet a few criteria if possible for my budget, around £500- £600. The laptop will probably never leave the house so does not ned to be that portable.

Manufacturer - Reliable, not fussed.
Processor - minimum 2Ghz dual core
RAM- As much as possible, 3 minimum
Drive - Blu-Ray ROM / DVDRW
Wireless - Draft n if possible
Graphics - Good as I can, not really gonna use for games. 256MB?
Software - Microsoft Work, Full not trial version if possible
Memory Card Slot - SD at least
Screen Size - 15" minimum

I am not sure if I can meet all my requirements, but I would like to meet as many as possible. I would appreciate any recommendations from anyone in the know. I have had a look about but nothing has stuck out.

Thanks in Advance!

RE: NTL users - say goodbye to Sky

Quote:
Can anyone with XL (ugh) pack for TV do me a quick favour? Go in to Teleport TV and select Comedy > Adam and Joe Show (for example) then pick and episode. Does it tell you you are "Unsubscribed" where it says "Price"?

Just noticed last night it`s saying that on mine - always used to say "Subscribed".

It works, but asks for a PIN. I rang 151 and they said I hadn`t been billed for anything I`d watched, but couldn`t explain it. Someone`s meant to be ringing me back, but I thought I`d see if others have the same problem. All the channels are working.

Check last night xfg! all my programs still say subscibed. Hope this helps.

RE: Do you recognise anyone.....?

The photo was taken in 1996. The royal shakespeare company visited the distillery.

David Tennant was playing a character called touchstone in the production "as you like it"

Bet he would be very embarrassed to see that pic now!

RE: Do you recognise anyone.....?

come on!

I thought someone would have it by now!

Do you recognise anyone.....?

The picture below is hanging on the wall in my company`s beefeater gin distillery in London.

Do you recognise anyone in it? Sorry about the quality. I took it with my mobile!

Took me a while to work out who was in it!

RE: Telewest TV Drive - anyone got it?

I have had a TVDrive for almost a year now and I could not live without it now. Much more features than SKY+, 3 tuners and much cheaper (HD wise).

I would not hesitate to recommend it!

RE: Free eye test with Boots until 09/09/2006

Are eye tests not free now on the NHS? along with dental check-ups?

Or is that just in scotland? :o

RE: Cat Repellant ... Any permanent suggestions for front garden??

First of all I am a cat lover and have 2 cats of my own.

The best idea is to get the stalk of a rose bush or similar and cut it up into small lengths and scatter it over the soil.

Small thorns is not the best thing to walk on or dig in. The cat should get the message rather quickly and move on to someone elses garden :o

Hope this helps

RE: What have you got as your desktop background...?

Also being a bit of a star wars geek, mine is off my FX lightsabers

RE: Free Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow Coin

Thanks OP, Just bagged one too :D

RE: New car seat legislation for children under 12

I believe this is a good idea but I think they are throwing the blanket to wide!

I know that when I was 11 I was over 6 foot tall! I do not think a booster seat would have helped me!

I think there should be some kind of height limit implied in the new law!

RE: A plea to John motson.

It makes a change from the commentators constantly talking about england.

It took them nearly 80 minutes to mention that Dado Prso played for Rangers. If he played for a premiership team it would have been mentioned every time he was on screen.

RE: Possibly nicked for speeding (Part Deux)

I think the most important thing is, it might take 3 or 4 years to come off your licence but your insurance usually want to know about it for 5 years :(
