Telewest TV Drive - anyone got it?

If so what do you think about the device and service? I`m thinking about getting the doo-hickey for my Christmas pressie (beats socks !) from Mrs Tifoso. Thanks in anticipation.........

The device itself can be a bit clunky and slow, infuriatingly so at times.
But for actually recording programs/series, its a doddle to use.

Service can be so-so, but I think that may just be a regional thing.

I have had a TVDrive for almost a year now and I could not live without it now. Much more features than SKY+, 3 tuners and much cheaper (HD wise).

I would not hesitate to recommend it!

We`ve had Telewest digital for 6 years and have had numerous new boxes (and additional engineer visits) in that time. Obviously with TV Drive there is more at stake, recordings-wise then just inconvenience - is it more reliable than the standard Pace box?

XFG, we`ve had telewest since it started (good old analog, then digital when it came out). We have never had a single problem in all those years, probably all going to go belly up now!, and think they are a good company to deal with. I like the fact that it`s their box, not yours, unlike sky. My brother in law has had to have his sky+ box fixed numerous times (3 times min.) at a cost to himself. I don`t think that`s applicable to Telewest.

Yeah, this is part of the reason I`d probably never go to Sky. We`ve been quite unlucky with the boxes, one replacement box failed completely fifteen minutes after being fitted - they were good though they had the engineer come back and install a new one about an hour hour later. We had analogue until digital was available, and that was really really stable.

We`ve never had to pay when our Sky box has gone. It`s either covered under the warranty or we just sign up for a new 12month contract and had a new box.

Saying that we had 3 Sky+ boxes, the last one we got was when they were changing the standard boxes to 40gb so we were hoping to get one of them, but got a 20gb one :(

Can`t get Telewest either around here. Couldn`t even get it when I was still in Liverpool, they only did the opposite side of the road to me :/ I lived right in the city centre aswell.
