What was your first ever computer??

Ladies & Gentlemen....may I introduce to you...the pride of the year 1981...the all powerful...the all magestical...the ZX81!!!

This baby had a powerful 1k memory capacity!?! You had the option to splash out for an `add-on` 16k cartridge which slotted into the back of it but that was only for show offs!

I had hours and hours of fun with this machine. I remember being amazed of typing actual text and seeing it appear onto the TV! It was a joy to behold.

God where have those simplistic times gone??

I didn`t get a computer til 1997 - an IBM Aptiva which is still going strong. I`d never used Windows or a CD ROM when I got it as we only had Acorn ones at school.

Commodore 64. Still remember feeding the tape - yes an audio tape - into the spooler to download saved programs. Oh, how thrilled I got over my box of 5.25" discs... and then the 3.5" ones... aah!!!

Mono monitors - apparently too fast for color they said!!!

Texas Ti994A... powerful 16k memory, cartridge loading games that gave Atari a run for their monry in the day, tape loading games also that took about ten minutes to load, or you could write your own in MS-DOS takes days doing it, only to find the game was how to move a block from the top to th ebottom of teh screen in jerky movements...

but i still have fond memories of it... then went for a ZX Spectrum +3

Acorn Electron.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Todays goal is to exceed yesterdays record level of totally unverifable productivity.
