Just about to buy one of these for a pressie.
Thinking of either the Phillips or the HannsG.
Anyone recommend anything else at this price point. ie:about 40 quid

The frames you are loking at have a low resolusion 480x234.
I recently bought the frame below, which may not some features that other frames have but has the higher 480 x 800 resolution

Hope this helps
I`d like a Digital photo frame, but I`d like it in the centre of the mantelpiece.
Which would mean unsightly wires running down to the mains. :(
You maybe get battery ones?
But I can`t see battery life being great?

There was a pile of these in the local store the other night but none plugged in to see the quality.
I`ll certainly stack it up against the other two and see where we end up, the higher res may just swing it.

I recently purchased a digital frame from Argos a few weeks ago and ended up taking it back for a refund! I totally forget the make of it but it was some foreign muck. It put me off getting one again...ever!!
I to was also unimpressed with the fact that werever I put the frame the lead dangling from it made it look unslightly. I have noticed you can get battery powered ones but only with a life of around 1 and a half hours!!?!
Hardly worth the effort. I have `normal` picture frames of my baby daughter hanging round my home and they look much better....
