Hack for alba 513

I need to know if this dvd player can be made multi-region or not, can anyone help?

RE: Dvd on my pc not there anymore!!! help.

I had the exact same problem on my laptop last week. I ended up trying to restart the pc to see if that would work. When the menu opens and says no dvd right clik on the program and there should be a properties option. If you click on that you will usually get a screen where you can choose which discs to run. When I did it I had to select a region for my laptop ( none were selected ) then just click apply and autostart and it worked ok.

This problem arose when I installed RegionKiller on my Toshiba laptop then tried to uninstall it.

Tell me if thats any use to ya!

RE: MULTIREGIONMAGIC.CO.UK - Tremendous service!!

I have bought two toshiba dvd players from them in the past and had great service both times. Recommended.

Toshiba Laptop and dvd genie

Can anyone tell me if DVD genie will make a Toshiba satelite 1800 laptop multi-region?

RE: Moulin Rouge Vs Samsung

I have played the disc on my hacked 709 and works ok. The sound was a bit weird on the very first song but I think that is more to do with the disc than the player. Worked fine on mine.

Amp? Speakers? Price? New to home cinema and needing help!

OK

I have been buying DVD`s for a while now and I am at the stage of wanting to get proper surround sound instead of my lovely stereo. Anyway I have a Toshiba S110E and was wondering exactly what i need to get dolby digital 5.1? Is it simply a case of buying the right speakers, do I need an amp, any recommendations for around 200-300 price mark?

RE: PC world after sales is rubbish

Not any advice sorry but I too had terrible problems with PCWorlds after sales service and now avoid the shop like the plague, dont be conned by the adverts people pc worlds service is below poor.

RE: Modified Toshiba SD210E - which is best?

I have posted about multiregionmagic before, use the search facility, good company and good service, never needed to use their after sales service however.

Magnolia help!!!! ***SPOILER****

ok, just watched this, can someone please explain the frogs??? I didnt really get that at all. Thanks.

RE: Multi region Magic...Any good?

no probs memento.

I actually dont have any RCE discs and wondered how easily they worked on this machine, it seems simple enough though. Anyway its a good player so enjoy!

RE: Multi region Magic...Any good?

hey,

I have posted about this company before. I have bought two Toshiba DVD players from in the past year and cant complain at all. Both orders arrived the following day all packaged securly with instructions etc in case you needed them.

If I was buying another machine for myself I would go back there. I dont know about their after sales service as I have never needed to go back to them about anything.

One thing I did think was helpful was in the second player I ordered they sent me a sheet explaining what RCE was and how to watch RCE discs.

Tell me if you order from them ok?

RE: Best widescreen tv for £300?

thanks for the replies all.

www.laservisual.com

Found this site yesterday and ordered the tin version of heathers, got it this morning at no 4073! I have already posted about my ongoing heathers saga of trying to get this disc but have to say I was impressed by this company.

I sent them an email asking if they had it in stock and got a reply within about 10 minutes ! Better than the usual day or sometimes no reply from other dvd sites i could mention.

They are an expensive site but they offer the ability to but discs before they are officially released, worth a look if interested.

RE: Heathers

got my disc this morning!

I wait three weeks from interdvd and dont get it, order from another place yesterday and got it this morning. To top it off I got no 4073 ! very impressed. Expensive site at £30 for the box but as I dont have any other tin versions and always loved this movie I could easily justify it lol. I will be ordering from laservisual again oh yes!

RE: Heathers

I had it on order from interdvd and called them today and said they were having difficulty in getting stock for it. I emailed www.laservisual.com and they said they had a few left. I then cancelled my order at interdvd and ordered it from laservisual. My order status is now at dispatched.

I guess I have to wait and see if i definitely get this disc but I will post when it arrives.

RE: Heathers

Well after waiting three weeks and being promised it would be sent out " soon " i have now cancelled my order and ordered it from another site who does have it in stock, this is the longest I have ever waited for a disc so cant complain too much.

RE: Attn Ickle Yoda - SKY+ question

Hey, all I have been told about sales is that within the first three weeks they had met sales figures for the first two months! This could be a rumour but it is selling very well. We have been told that the price drop will not happen for at least a year but they never told us about the reduction of sky digital until the day it was announced in shops etc.

They have a staff offer whereby we pay £400 for everything and the extra £100 is for a lifetime subscription, however that offer has been withdrawn as they are trying to keep up with demand of the boxes for the public first.

In all honesty I cant see it going down in price very quickly, however you know how sky likes to surprise people ( even those who work for the company ! )

Who has the phantom menace?

Who has this disc (region 2) at the moment? Where did you order it from and when did you get it? I was gonna order it and trying to find quickest place, cheers.

RE: Sky digital? Whassssuuuupppp?

close Bowf, services, system setup, then sound settings, turn BACKGROUND music off then save new settings.

Problem solved!

We were told at work that the background music is being worked on but we have been getting a lot of calls like this which mainly affect grundig boxes. I think its simply because nothing is being broadcast you get this strange noise. Turn off the background music and its sorted.

Now dont say I am not nice ;)

RE: Heathers

Well I ordered mine on 25/9/01 from interdvd ( its a long story why i ended up ordering from them ) and I am still waiting on it. When I called I was told they were waiting on deliveries but would definitely be getting them. Funnily enought they blamed it on anchor bay for not sending it quicker and then tried to sell me a tin version of maniac!

Anyway still waiting and will not be ordering from them again as their service has slowly gotten worse, prices still stupidly high and they dont reply to emails. DV-depot here I come!

RE: Is it true?? Sky Digital to Broadcast in Dolby Digital????

Yes it is ture. By the end of the year sky have planned to have some of the movie channels broadcasting in dolby digital 5.1 but you can only get it if you have sky+ and an amp etc.

DV-Depot any good?

Thought their website was alright, with good prices but wondered how quick there delivery is, how well they dealed with any problems you may have with the discs and how much their delivery costs for postage and packaging in scotland /uk?

Also, if i buy something from them on visa does it show up the company and the movie or just the company? i am planning on buying dvds for xmas pressies and dont want my partner to see what I have bought her.

Any comments would be appreciated thanks.

RE: Heathers

thanks a lot, loads of useful info there.

I always liked this film and the tin version looks good to me! thanks !

Heathers

Could someone please tell me the difference between the normal version of heathers and the limited edition tin version? I seem to see no difference apart from extra money and if its just for the packaging I will go for the cheaper one probably. Thanks.

RE: Sky Digibox Phone Line

Feel free to unplug it. You only need it connected for the online features and ordering box office movies. The software upgrades are done through the dish. The only reason sky may ask you to connect it is simple, if you are having problems booking box office sky can do a callback which simply clears the memory cache type system on the digibox allowing you to order more box offices.

Trust me this is fine to do, I have worked for sky in the tech dept for 2 years =)

RE: play 247 delivery

I ordered a disc from them about 2 weeks ago and it took about 6 days to get to me. This type of service has always been the same whenever I have ordered from Play247 though =(

RE: Sky Digital

I am afraid its been closed down due to poor viewing figures I was led to believe. The website closed down as well as they felt that it wasnt worthwhile having it without the channel on air.

RE: Fight Club

R2 is missing commentaries and also a deleted scene which is a more graphic visualization of a fight scene. Excellent film :)

RE: Massive terrorist attacks in America

Ditto FJ1200

Not much you can say, wishes go out to the people affected.

RE: Play 24/7

I have only ordered two discs from play247 and wasnt thrilled with the speed of service. One disc took round about a week to come and I ordered a disc on Tuesday afternoon and its still at processing just now. Both discs were in stock at time of ordering.

They do have a good reputation and seem good if you have a problem with the discs from what I have heard from others but their delivery time is not the greatest.
