It wasn`t supposed to make sense. It was like a way of rounding up the film by kinda graphically saying that `s*** happens!`.

It`s to do with the HUGE theme of coincidences and seemingly random situations. It`s to do with how it was a strange coincidence that the frogs should rain right there, right then.

But thats probably just how I see it.

It`s a passage from the bible. To do with frogs raining from the sky. I`m not sure but I think it may be about Sodom & Gomorra. Maybe someone in the know might tell you better. But I`m sure the numbers of this passage keep appearing randomly throughout the movie.

I think Blazing is closer to the mark.

The people in the movie have two links. They are indirectly connected to each other through common associations. And they all get rained on by frogs.

Sh*t, does indeed, happen. Kinda like a three hour soap opera.

I beg to differ. bigp is correct. If you had read your Bible you will find, in Exodus -
8:2
I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
8:3
And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:

Bigp and Greg Evigan are quite right, it is a biblical reference, and not a particularly coherant one at that.

I assumed it was some kind of biblical reference, but having never read the bible before, I couldn`t quote.

Yep, it may be biblical. But surely the point is that it`s something that affects all the characters. So everyone is separate but linked in the end. In the same way they all sing Aimee Mann`s `Wise Up`, they all get frogged. How the hell did they film that scene anyway. Love that film and boogie nights. A new PT Anderson project soon (check www.IMDB.com for details).
Has anyone seen Sydney/Hard Eight? I can`t even find it on DVD.

The way I see it is that at the start of the film there are those strange but true stories of weird things that happened, such as the diver who gets picked by a fire-fighting plane etc. I believe there is a book of strange things that have happened.

And the frog fall was something that happened as they say in the film, something like "its strange but it did happen". So the film is merely ending like it started - obviously PT read this strange but true story and must have thought now I`ll build a film around it.

Thats the way I see it - don`t believe it has any biblical reason.
