Tried that to no avail. Thanks for the info.

I found that there is a advance service menu used by Sony engineers. Simply went it to it and enabled NTSC on scart 2 and 3.

Help unable to view NTSC DVD`s on Sony TV

Recently purchased a 32" widescreen TV (Sony KV32FQ75) and connected it to a Sony Multi region dvd player. Prior to purchasing the above TV I was able to watch NTSC and PAL without any problems using scart to scart.

Viewing PAL movies OK problem occurs when veiwing NTSC movies.

I am using s-video connector from my DVD player to the scart on the back of the TV. I have looked through the basic service menu to enable NTSC on the scart connector but theres no such thing.

Any1 had any similar problems and no away to get round this?

Confussed about DVDImport Pricing

Ordered Forrest Gump for $21.57 but charged $33.19. Anyone know where they got $33.19? I thought Worldwide shipping was free. Have e-mailed them about this about a week ago but have had no response. Any suggestions?

Not heard many nice things about Them, there have been some real horrer stories on this forum. A reliable place to buy a player would be www.multiregionmagic.co.uk. Got my player from them, I will be purchasing another player from them next week as well as getting my brothers one chipped/hacked by them.

Help Wanted. Which Laptop?

I know this is a DVD forum etc, as many of the guys/gals are pc bods I thought this may be a good place to start. I`m looking to invest in a laptop and I don`t know where to start looking from. I`m looking to spend around 1400, is there any laptop`s that any1 can recommend, any reviews, stay clear of, bad/good experience with customer services, good place to purchase one from etc.

I purchased my M74`s about two weeks ago from Richersounds for 220. They price matched hifijunkies and through in the 5 years warrenty. If you do order from them ensure that they knock off the carriage. You`ll have to chase them about the price match as `lard` quite rightly has said that they don`t call you back (take the name down of the person you speak to).

Anyone know of a hack for a Sony DVPCX860?

I am thinking of purchasing the above player, (299 from http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/) but it`s not multi region. I need to find out if there is a hack available, before I commit myself in buying it.

Just purchased Mission M74`s form Richersounds inc. 5yrs warrenty for a nice price of 220 got them to match www.hifijunkies.co.uk to compliment my DSP A5. Sounds Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. Next on the list is centre speaker.

I’ve recently bought the Yamaha DSP-A5 from www.letsbuyit.co.uk for £225 inc. delivery; I`m still waiting for this to be delivered. The speakers that I intending to buy will be the Mission M73 (£178.95) and M74 (£202.83) from www.qed-uk.com.

I think the above setup will be pretty dam good for the price I’m paying. If you have a local Richardsounds store you can book a demo with them. If you like what you here they will even match the price and knock off £10 but be aware that QED are taking delivery of the speakers mid April.

Does anyone have an idea what the main difference`s are between the two and also which they would prefer? Would the quality be better for DTS? Would I need addtional speakers? etc.

As I`m trying to set up home cinema and looking to buy the Yamaha DSP-A5 and Mission speakers probably from the M70 series. Test driving these at Richersounds next Monday.

I can back you up on that Wibble, Sony does play RCE I’ve not had any problems with this so far. Speak to www.multiregionmagic.co.uk, as they can guarantee there dvd`s are RCE compatible amongst other things.

Once u`v decided which player u want its worth asking when ordering if they are running any special promotions. (If you don`t ask you don`t get)

Wibble you need to learn to be a bit more patient about 2-3 years, as this type of quality in a film gets better of the years.

I`m not to keen on VCD as I`v not had the pleasure or displeasure of purchasing one and I`m not sure if I want to. I`v got a copy of Lethal weapon 3 on VCD and its totally sucks, so i`m not going to bother with this sort of s***.
