RE: The Scottish Referendum Which Way Will It Go ?
Yes for me. Just voted.

RE: [VIDEO] The Scottish Referendum
I'm beginning to feel Yes is going to win this. The closer the referendum gets the support for Yes seems to increase - the positive message I suppose helps. Beginning to think pollsters have got the outcome wrong. I'm not saying its a stick on but Yes are well organised for tomorrow - many buses booked to bus Yes voters from the housing schemes (most never vote) to their polling stations.
Taking the camera out early tomorrow to soak up the day.
The irony if a Prime Minister with a Scottish name loses the Union. He just didn't believe many Scots fancied going it alone.
RE: The Scottish Referendum
The reason I have it running a little closer is 300,000 have re-registered to vote. I'd imagine most of them are Yes although some may be out to save the union. The polling companies will probably not have factored them in as I've heard they rely on calling those that usually vote.
7.30 on Friday they reckon we will know the outcome.
RE: The Scottish Referendum
Scottish Labour policies would need to be more socially aware than they currently are. I've been truly surprised by the number of die hard labour people voting Yes.
The SNP would also change though - the party may even split in two eventually.
If Scottish Labour stick to New Labour policy then I forsee a few years of SNP controlled parliament.
Yes or No victory on Friday I feel Scottish politics have been revitalized - 97% registered to vote and an expected 80+% turnout. That can only be a good thing as turnouts have been poor for a long time.
Just for the record I have a feeling Better Together will win but only by a very small margin.
edit : meant to add that Independence would surely mean an end to Trident - would any English/Welsh/N.Irish area except it in their doorstep?

RE: The Scottish Referendum
Labour in Scotland are currently run by UK Labour Si. Many Labour voters in Scotland feel they would move to the left in a Independent Scotland and become more like Labour of old.
RE: The Scottish Referendum
You made a good choice marrying a Scots lass Bandi :-)
Si - I've never ever voted for SNP. I'm a labour man usually but this vote transcends party politics. If Yes wins we will have a vote in 2016 to vote in our parliament and depending on their policies I will probably vote Scottish Labour.
RE: The Scottish Referendum
"My wife has hightailed it across the border to vote, but she is a week early, as she is taking a bit of a holiday, away from me"
Does your wife not receive a vote in your local constituency then mate? Only residents with a Scottish address have a vote.
Did mine by post ---- a resounding YES
Countless politicians of all persuasions - Tory, Labour ConDems have failed us :-(
RE: House History Curiousity
We recently purchased a new property just outside Edinburgh mate and once everything had been processed we were passed all the deeds/documents for the property going back 116 years. When we enquired @ solicitors why we had received them we were told that due to computerisation the original documents no longer require to be kept once processed. Solicitor said "keep em as a house history or bin them".
Hope that helps.
RE: Celtic Man U Legends Match
Was there myself mate and let`s just say that Andrew Kerins (Brother Walfrid) and his co-founders of our fine club would be delighted that a club they set up to over a century ago to feed Glasgow`s impoverished, managed to achieve last nights remarkable fundraiser. I has been said before mbilko but Celtic like a small number of other clubs are "more than just a football club". 54k paying to watch Gerard Butler, Larsson and Ralf Little could not be done by many clubs. John Kennedy deserves huge applause also for handing over his testimonial money. Most clubs would be delighted to get that kind of support once in a lifetime. The atmosphere was electric - reminded me of a European night tbh.
ps Jeff Brazier looked not too bad a player. Was gonna pass his name to Mr McCoist lol

Galloway is no idiot. Not so sure about Ken though ;-)
RE: The Official Celtic 2011/12 Season Thread
I think Mr Romanov`s brain was affected during his time on the submarines in the the Russian Navy. Complete loony!
Still need a goalie mbilko and maybe a replacement for Izzy until he regains fitness
RE: Police on streets after rioting
And I thought Glasgow was the mean city - or so someone on here never tires of telling us anyway.
RE: Bombs sent to Neil Lennon and 2 others...
Ha ha ha .... The police have no idea whats behind the bombs threats but bowf from Aberdeen does. What a fool (or have I mispelled the last word).
Absolutely clueless idiot.

Can`t comment on Edinburgh, it doesn`t hold enough appeal for me to bother visiting it.
Maybe the zoo every now and then, but that`s it.
LOL. Aye cos Aberdeens yer oyster.
Quote:
There`s nowhere in Aberdeen I wouldn`t walk around at night.
that goes without saying but what about us mere mortals. There are surely places we couldn`t visit at night. Of the top of my head I can think of two straight away. :/
RE: 6 Glaswegian Managers in EPL
Decent managers come from Glasgow and it`s suburbs. The only decent thing to come out of Aberdeen is a road. ;)
Someone appears to have a rose-tinted specs view of Aberdeen - there are indeed some nice areas but many not so great as well. Now my home city IS a fine one :) and the capital to boot. We also have a few crummy areas (as all cities have) though. However we don`t have any decent managers, football teams (or roads for that matter) leaving here though.

Eh? Beckham can`t play for Spurs as u haven`t signed him silly!
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Did you expect anything else mbilko. Remember the excuses on here after the crowd trouble at the 2 games down south last season. Two cup games iirc.
It`s a no brainer to a no brainer like him. Takes offence at a poppy protest but completely ignores hooliganism. He even predicted that there was a strong chance of trouble when the Celtic and Rangers buses would be on the same roads one night. Remember that! I`m sure that even the biggest fool on here would realise its just an anti Celtic thing though. Mr Spurs tv :/ His last Spurs game was the one at Bolton - that long ago I think it may have been the season b4 last :D We know because he crowed about it on the Monday. He most likely has a spurs paperweight, mug etc.
You can tell when he is losing the argument as he starts the "get a room comments" My guess is that behind his back those that know him think - erse (or worse). We should cut him some slack though as Aberdeen are in serious trouble. They are maybe fortunate their game against Celtic has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Dallas - had to go as child abuse is NOT a subject for jokes.
McDonald - lied and therefore could no longer be trusted. Good riddance.
Collum & Underhill as Choagy has already stated are also useless!
Hamer was a breath of fresh air last weekend.
Lennon needs to calm down. He is doing himself and the team no favours.

And Pittodrie regularly reports thousands of pounds of damage to seats after every OF game
If your team put up a better showing your fans wouldn`t resort to ripping the seats out now would they.
Whilst I can`t speak for games you play against Gers at Pittodrie I can assure you that is not the case when we visit. Another one of your bull**** stories moulded to fit. Its all a likkle boring.
We have been here before. The worst (most explosive or likely to be more explosive) fixtures in the SPL are Aberdeen v Rangers & Hearts v Hibs. In recent times these games have proved to be explosive. The stats don`t lie pal and are freely available from the relevant authorities. Indeed I posted last years stats on here. You may also wish to pay more attention to the goings on down south.
You can fool all of the people some of the time ..........
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Yes and a box of hankies for bowf the forum muppet! ;)
They are on there way to you now. Just let me know when you run out.
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Only 9 -0 but it could have been easily have ended 13-0 and the dons would have had no complaints. Accept facts it was the worst result in your team`s history. The laughter coming from the stands when MacGuire passed the ball into his own 18 yd box for no 8 was brilliant. Thats a pretty poor comeback post you made referring to one defeat Celtic suffered. Lennon had just got the job. Is it really the best you could come up with?
Some of those wearing red shirts on Saturday should never be allowed to wear them again unless they are attending as the match as supporters.
Its no wonder that on the occasion you do beat Rangers or Celtic you celebrate like you have won the league.
You may be bottom in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy.
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Our game against Utrecht is tomorrow night mate. We should go through I think. An away goal might be required though. Going to spend a couple of days in the dam after the game.
The Braga game was just a little too early for us with all the changes in personnel.
Forrest has been pretty decent since he stepped up to the first team but its our midfield which have mostly impressed my so far - they seem to have gelled very quickly. Someone is gonna get a good going over in the coming weeks though - you can sense it coming. It looked like it may happen last Sunday but the post/bar and great saves kept the score to 4 :)

Hope to f*** they don`t show it on Grampian TV.
Enough s*** on ITV as it is.
I`m pretty sure it will be mate as every other tennants ad is aired on Grampian. I`ve also seen this one on SSN & a.n.other channel on Sky - can`t remember of hand which it was though.
Some of the ads they show on commercial tv are more entertaining than the rubbish they call programming that the ads are shown between. Maybe even a bigger budget per second than is spent of the programming too :/ There have been some very entertaining tennants television ads over the last 20 years or so.
A Madman`s Dream - This shirt sponsorship idea might need refining :D

RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Aye your right mate - quirky and yeah it may be the first of a series. Whoever came up with the idea is wel worth their fee. :D
Any ideas who the scottish actor is that plays the tennants supremo in said ad? Recognise him from somewhere! :/
I also keep meaning to check what the name is on the back of the goalie`s jersey (I think its the goalie`s jersey anyway)- can`t recall if its the Gers or Celts goalie at the moment. I`m bound to find it amongst one of the programmes I have Sky+`d over the past week or so.
ps - our israeli dude looks like he may be a great buy. The mexican lad is looking Efrain ;) decent as well.
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Sammi must have had his weetabix mbilko :)
Have you seen the new Tennants Celtic/Rangers ad on tv mate?
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
I found that last bit regarding loans and money in the bank quite interesting when I noticed it when looking at the accounts mate. They must find the interest on the loan manageable otherwise I would have thought they would transfer a bit of the money in the bank to pay off a chunk of the loan. I always find looking at these institutions annual reports/accounts make interesting reading.
You tend to forget that the cash for players sold comes in in instalments. Not sure that all clubs do this (Leeds and their 15/20/25 year "mortgages" for players which partly led to their downfall are one club who did not) amortalise all parts of incoming players wages/signing on fees etc over the length of the contract.
Whilst no clubs are immune from the current downturn I do think some clubs will weather the storm better than others. Its mostly the oil owners teams doing the spending at the moment. The Milner money might spark a little purchasing/selling by other clubs though.
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
Debt 2008/09 was a miserly £1.85m (which was around 500k more than I posted around 6 months ago and which fowler disagreed with :/ - but has just been re-announced when comparing this years figures) and has risen to a still decent £5.85m. Compared to most UK clubs this is excellent - especially when you consider the country is in recession.
Payoffs for the idiot Mogga and his pals (nearly £4m was paid to terminate contracts early) + the buys he made will be the reason for all lot of the increase.
Things are bright wearing green n white.
RE: Sky HD - Should I cancel?
Have heard that Sky will remove the HD premium but that was in May and haven`t heard anything since.
Paying around £14/month for all the entertainment packs (6 I think) and £5/month for HD channels. As a friend is a sky employee everything is 1/2 price. Could add the movies and sports at half price too but never bothered. No interest in their movie channels and the stadium or pub is always better for the football.
Of the HD channels I only ever watch Discovery HD, BBC HD & History HD and only BBC HD is available from that bunch without the HD premium :( Worth £5 to keep em.
RE: The Official Celtic 10/11 Season Thread
So McGeady went for £9.5m like we said mbilko - we were right again. This site needs a new football oracle cos the current one keeps getting it wrong :)
Like I said at the time you are worth whatever another club is willing to pay. Celtic could afford to ask for whatever they wanted as they were not trying to balance the books.
Great piece of business by Peter! Now spend the money wisely ;)
RE: The Official MANCHESTER UNITED & Charity Shield winners 2010/11 Season Thread.
He didn`t seem to connect properly with the ball Paull. The ball spun up and hit his head (or nose). I`m pretty sure it wasn`t meant.
Ok game for a friendly though and Utd were deserved winners.
