Interesting interview with Billy Davies who is hoping to become number 7, what do u guys think promotes men from one city to go on to greater heights as managers in one of if not the most cutthroat league ever??

I don`t know any Glaswegians personally, so I have no idea! But Scotts in general do seem to have an unusually high % of the management jobs. Less so with the players though. :o

Glaswegians are very good at directing people.
Telling them where to go, when to get off and what to do with themselves when they get there.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Snide comment..surely not....the fact is I think thats part of it, working class people always want to get out and better themselves, these guys are different generations also so its not that, Fergie 70 ish...Billy Davies young enough to be his son....I do think the upbringing is in it too and the Scotland England thing...ie getting one over than them and us thinking we need to be twice as good to get the same respect (similar to some women in high powered jobs i guess)...someone mentioned scots doing unusually well..the fact is its a city tho..not country...which is the thing that stood out for me.....I mean I dont think u could say its coincidence.

Maybe it`s similar to how people from Liverpool can`t wait to leave there and then spend the rest of their lives telling everyone how great it is without ever going back!

Half Wooly Back?
Oh I`m not sure I`d rush to admit that.
Quite right, though but most of them make sure they hang on to the accent.

I think its just more a case its one of those anomalies that there happens go be a fair few at the moment in one place at one time.

How many other Glaswegians are there throughout the other leagues, or have managed in the Premiership since its existence in comparison to other areas.

I noticed are from the villages around Glasgow and are in the "Glasgow area" are they as much from working class background?

Whether you think it`s snide or not is irrelevant.
I make no attempt to hide my contempt for Glasgow, I can`t stand the place.
Can we get past that now?

Even you`ve admitted it`s a possibility their backgrounds have played a part in them wanting to better themselves.
SAF comes from Govan, you can`t blame him for wanting to get out of that f***ing dump for a start.
He makes no secret of the fact he loved staying in Aberdeen, no doubt helped by the fact it was one of the nicest parts.
