I have no dog in this fight but if it's the only way to get an English parliament then on y'go Jimmy.
Even though anything that brings a smile to Salmond's self satisfied, smugĀ moosh upsets me.

Have to say, and I'm surprised it hasn't been commented on so far, but I'm disgusted that Cameron didn't take part in the debate and instead sent in Capt. Darling. Cowardly. How this man continues to elude public debate with other leaders is amazing.
If I was Scottish, I'd think I'd want independence myself, butĀ the missus is Scottish and thinks it would be a mistake for them to leave the Union. I'm options 3 and 4 I suppose. I support their independence but I'd like them to stay. Oh and 5. I can't vote. :D
David Cameron has avoided taking part in any real debate because he knows a tory public school educated toff from London telling the people of Scotland how he thinks they should vote would be the best thing to insure Alex Salmond got what he wanted. I want Scotland to stay but would understand if they vote to leave
On a side note, the smugness of the first minister is only outdone by the current chancellor of the exchequer who has a git factor of 10. There's a man I can not image tiring of punching in his self satisfied face.

Well of course, but for my money now is not the time for him to be shying away from such things. He really needed to come out and do his job. There's been a few examples of him avoiding any type of public debate over the years, and I think it really reflects badly on any leader. I've never been a Tory voter in my life but I still feel that if he managed to steal himself in there, he needs to stand up in these things.
It's all been really heavy handed anyway in recent times, what with him sicking the BBC on the issue, with all sorts of propaganda flying about. Remember the "You're My Best Friend" song a couple of weeks ago? Blimey...
Bad week for the Tories all round though...
Good. :)
I actually think Cameron shouldn't be taking part in debates, aside from the fact that he'd not help things. This is an issue for the Scottish, so it should be debated by Scots living in Scotland.
One thing I'm a bit bored of hearing is people saying, "oh I'm tired of having everything run from Westminster by people I didn't vote for." How is that different from the rest of the country? Pretty sure the majority of people didn't vote for the government.

I don't generally like getting involved in political debates usually, not least of all because I'm not so good at expressing myself on the internet. But I do disagree with this. Imho it potentially affects everyone, perhaps in ways we can't even imagine yet if the yes vote goes through. And while ultimately yes, it boils down to what Scottish people living in Scotland want, right now it does involve the government and really ought to have had David Cameron involved in the debate. If we all feel that he isn't up to the job or isn't helping, then wtf use is he doing as Prime Minister?
But you're right. I seem to remember a hung parliament. Essentially no-one actually voted for Cameron or this government, and he had to do the dirty deal with Clegg to squeeze in.

You just need to use lots of smiley faces and give big hugs a lot, that helps. :)
I guess for me it's a bit like the parents (Westminster) and the kids (England, Wales, Scotland, NI) trying to decide if one of the kids can afford their own place. Scotland is all grown up now, sure the parents should make their feelings known, but they've done that, Scotland has to decide on its own if it wants to go off and live by itself.
But I might just be biased here because I know Cameron won't help the side I support. ;)

Quite happy for Scotland to go live on it's own as long as it takes all of it's mates with it and they stop telling us what to do and how to run what will be the rest of the UK.
We can't even have the question to ourselves, it has to be the West Lothian question.
