RE: Samsung LE40A786R2FXXU LCD TV anyone know anything about it ????

Thanks for that Bofer, had a look at your option, and it looks very nice but I think that the 2,000,000 to 1 does it for me.

Samsung LE40A786R2FXXU LCD TV anyone know anything about it ????

I`ve tried samsungs own site but came up with nothing, it`s one of the most frustrating sites i have ever come across, any help would be great, thanks in advance.

RE: how do you unlock the Nokia1600???

Took your advice and went to a phone shop to have it unlocked, ( Cable Unlock ? ); then saw that "Asda" do a deal on sims, where you can buy a sim card online for £2.48, free delivery, if you put £10 air time on the phone you get the sim free plus another £2 on top so i plumped for it, there tariffs are quite good too, so all in all i`m well pleased.

story over
and thanks again for all your help :D

P/S the cable unlock cost £5.

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

don`t worry,
the reason i know what your on about is that i had same prob last week, and it was a right pain trying to make sense out of what the Dell support team told me to do.

if you have no floppy disc drive on your pc? you can remove the constant warning that your os can not find it, heres what i was told to do: enter BIOS on your system (F2) and scroll down to Drives, now you will see Floppy Drive, highlight Floppy Drive and then turn it off.

to reboot to Dell factory settings restore:
1. turn system off.
2.Remove all the cables from the desktop apart from the power lead, keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
3. turn the system back on and as you turn it on hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and as you are holding it down start tapping the F11 key along the top of the keyboard once every two seconds,
4. this will lead you to a screen with two options, one for restore or reboot, you click on restore,
5. you will notice a progress bar at the bottom of the screen counting up from 0% to 100% this is the process wiping all the data on the drive, when this process has finished it will then take you through the windows setup procedure, you then follow on screen instructions and hopefully everything will be back to the way it arrived from Dell.

Cheers Mick.

RE: Idiot in upper flat has his washing machine on all night & morning....!!

it might be a good idea to write to the person that owns the upstairs flat and ask him/her to have a word with the bloke/idiot, or if it`s run by a letting agent get in touch with them, as the owner or letting agency are`nt aware of whats going on.

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

ok done that what now?
done what?
have done the reinstall?
or do you want to know how to remove the: press F1 to continue?

Cheers Mick

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

Hi
first turn off your pc, turn it back on as soon as you turn it on hold down the Ctrl key and tap the F11 key that should give you two options 1 go to boot or 2 restore this is the one you want.
You didn`t say what Dell you have?.
Once you`ve done the above i`ll explain how to turn off the floppy diskette.

Cheers Mick

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

which key do you strike? hit the F1 and try again, have you got a floppy?.
once you hit the F1 key start tapping the combo Ctrl+F11 and see if you can get in that way.

Cheers Mick. :D

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

yeah, funny place where i found it, it was on one of the Dell forums, downloaded it and it did the job!!! brilliant :D

Cheers Mick.

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

great name, it works though thats the main thing, google it and you`ll see what it does, did you try the (Ctrl>F11>), this is from my pc though, dimension e550!!, like i said if you`ve got your TAG you can go to Dells support page and download a manual for your pc.

Good luck, it should only take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete the reinstall :).

Cheers Mick.

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

If you have a look at my post you`ll see where you went wrong?,
Try Ctrl>F11> and you might come to a new page.
Also you might like to get rid of the stuff that Dell bundle with there pc`s that nobody asks for or wants, try this it`s called PC-Decrapifier-1.7 just Google it!!!.
Cheers Mick :/

RE: re installing Xp on my Dell..

done it last week hears what i had to do: Turn on pc, during boot a blue bar with www.Dell.com appears across the top of the screen, you`ve got to be quick.
when you see it press <Ctrl><F11> if you don`t catch it go through to the windows page and then click restart and try again,
when you reach the page you`re after press Restore, then Confirm.

if you have a TAG number that came with your pc, go to DELL support page and you can download the owners manual for your pc.

Cheers Mick

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

Hi.
Glad to have caused all this debate.
If you remember the question was for a TV within a budget of £700-£999?..., I saw the ad, and passed it on, he seems quite happy with it!!!, so to talk about a Sony for £1,500, is to my mind academic.

Mick. :/

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

Hi
on the 26/05/05 at Aldi`s they will be selling a 32" HD Ready LCD TV, for £749.99.
If you get one let us know how you get on with it.

Mick :) .

shortcuts keep replicating, any help please.

I`ve been very stupid, wanted to copy my Favorites to floppy but didn`t know how to do it so I sent each one to My Documents, so that I could click them all, and send them to a floppy, I then tried to do this and it seemed to go fine, then I noticed that as they were being tranfered to the A drive, they were copying themselves back into My Documents folder, but it didn`t stop at just the one copy, it kept on replicating, until the whole folder was full, the floppy was useless by this time so I tried to get them all onto a disc, same blasted problem.

If any one can help, I`d be most grateful. :(

RE: Panasonic DVD RAM Cartridges

Hi Chris

I bought a Panny E55, about 3 months ago, very pleased with it.
I had the same problem as you about which discs to use so started off with panny`s own DVD-RAM discs (no cartridge) and they have worked fine if you are careful with the discs you should have no problems as thay say you can Format and reuse them 100.000 times, if you want more protection for your discs, for example if you have kids then get the ones in cartridges.

Hope this helps.
Mick :)
