I must also back up Jimbo on the banding issue. I have a 28" widescreen and have looked at this scene over and over even using the frame advance since it was mentioned.and can see no distortion at all.

I hate Sony : -
1. I bought one of the original PRO-Logic Sonys that came out. It worked fine for the first 18 months, then : -
a) The teletext lines "fell" onto the picture making it unwatchable, £50 repair
b) The tuner broke only SCART left £70 repair
c) The sound then went, £1.40 trip to the dump!
2. I bought a SONY in-car cd changer and head unit: -
a) 13 months after purchase the CD unit died
b) Repair took 5 weeks at a local authorised Sony repair center
c) After "repairing" it the unit was plugged in and it promptly blew the head unit!!!!
3. I have a Sony Hi-Fi: -
a) The volume knob sometimes works, others it changes the volume in the opposite direction
b) The lights on the unit are failing
4. I work for a computer games shop: -
a) The amount of faulty PSX`s I see is stupid
b) Their PS2 preorder scheme is a joke
c) Their royalty structure nearly made several small games buisnesses go bust.
I claim leadership of the I hate Sony club
Bottom line DO NOT buy Sony

I always thought that AIWA was SONY in disguise. Might be wrong but I honestly thought that AIWA is budget SONY. All the stuff has the same look to it!!!! I have also had a few AIWA units and SONY units in Hi-Fi and Personal stereos. They all looked alike and had the same features!!

PROLINE 2000 SUCKS!!!
Bought a Proline 2000 from Comet (yeah I know, I`m sorry) on Sunday. After 1 hour through Gladiator there was a really bad pause, layer change I thought. After another 15mins the audio stutters, and again in another 5 mins. Something wrong I now think. I then tested it with The Matrix R1 to see if there were any problems. All menus work OK so I watched the Lobby Shooting Spree scene, after 5 mins the audio is 0.5 secs out and it gets worse until a chapter change occurs. Took the player back on Monday and tested the in-store machine with my discs, same problem again!!!! Swapped for an Aiwa DV370, much happier now.
DO NOT BUY A PROLINE 2000 PLEASE!!!!!!!
If you have one of these machines and have no problems with these disks, please reply so I know if these were just unlucky machines

Now got an AIWA 370, works far better than that PROLINE and with mp3 and cdr/rw support I am much happier.

Make sure drive is empty and closed
Power on
Press menu
type 1,6,7 on your remote
Type in the required region code or press mute for all regions
Press exit
Now insert your DVD and go.
For the PROLINE 2000!!! only
Taking mine back tomorrow though because it skips
Anyone else having an audio skip problem with this machine???
