On my 1033 after I keyed in 9735 I couldn`t change the number to a zero so used 1 and this worked with both my USA imports and my normal UK discs.........

just tried the hack for the dual 858 and i now have a multi region 860 :D

i think this is the fw i recently tried on my e55.

My E55 said it was a non valid disk and wouldnt update

been having problems getting it to record on modern 8 X dvd-r, (Ritek G05 is only one it likes ) hence why i wanted to try updating f/w

Bought sum DVD-Rs to use on my DRE-55 and had same problem with errors.

Odd thing is if i burn a film on them off my pc the damn things work flawlessly on both the DRE55 and my standalone dvd player.

Just gonna see how my ps2 likes them

Best place for Ram is Bigpockets.co.uk.

I use without caddy as i edit things on E55 then put into my pioneer 107/8 to convert to VOBS and plonk on a DVDr

Renaming can have adverse effects.

Way that i do it is the same as ddevil...works everytime.

Gave my mate an old pacific (DVD 1002 model i think) and it would stutter on all media except Ritek G03/G04s. But my later model pacific will play anything faultlessly.

What media are you using?

Panasonic E55 getting warm in standby

My E55 is situated under my Sony 32" tv (the normal glass fronted one)

On touching the case and at top right rear, it appears to be fairly warm and this is when its been left for a day or so.

Is this normal?

Sony RDRGX35

Been looking at the above model and when I look online for specs there appears to be a RDRGX35 and a RDRGX35 S

Does anyone know what the difference is (other than the price)
