RE: Best free CD ripper?

Whats wrong with windows media player v 10…you can rip to MP3 or WMA format with it…good enough for me ;)

Great mobile deal...better hurry!!

Phones 4U are doing a great deal on the Vodafone Line Advance 100 tarrif.

The Voda Line advance 100 gives you 100 cross network minutes & 100 text each month. 8)

The package costs £99.95 for 12 months & you also get a new Samsung C100 phone included in the price.

Check it out at www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=28385&MPItemKey=115930

Better hurry as I wouldn't imagine this deal would last for long.

RE: Medion 8 in 1 remote £9.99

Hi all,
I got one of the Medion 8 in 1 remotes ( Model # MD4688 ) when Aldi had them on sale last year.
The remote has been great so far but when the batteries ran out & I replaced them I found I now have a problem with the way the remote adjusts the volume of the TV.

Before the batteries ran out if you pressed the vol + or vol - the volume steadily increased or decreased as long as you kept the button pressed, but now you have to keep repeatedly pressing the button to turn the TV up or down.

I have tried reprogramming the TV code into the remote but this has made no difference.

Was just wondering if any one else had suffered this problem & had maybe found a cure for it, so I can get the volume control working the way it used to?

Regards, UB

RE: Lenoxx HT-6OO How noisy is the fan

Hi Dave,
I have the Lenoxx HT600 & although it's a great system for the money the fan noise is starting to really annoy me. (You have probably read some of my posts that mention the fan noise)

I have tried my player in a glass fronted TV unit & this made the fan sound worse even though the unit is fully backed with only about an 8" x 8" opening in the back.

I find that if you have the volume at about 13 - 15 the fan noise is mostly drowned out but if the film etc has quiet bits then you can hear it quite clearly.
I appreciate that some people will have the volume up quite loud so the noise may not be an issue.

If I were you I would set up the system ASAP to see what you personally think of the fan noise as opinions are going to vary immensely on this subject.

Post back with your opinion.

Regards

RE: lenoxx sound ht600 remote control problem

Nice of them to offer you such a technical solution!

Make sure not to use clear tape :D

RE: lenoxx sound ht600 remote control problem

Hi,
Yeah I experience a similar problem with my TV remote.
Changing channels on the TV turns the volume of the Lenoxx up. :o

The strange thing is that I bought an 8 in 1 remote control (Medion from Aldi) & this will not work the lenoxx, go figure!

Even with all of it's little problems the Lenoxx is a great system for the money, shame about the noisy fan though!

RE: Binatone Dp 1800

Hi,
Thanks for the info regarding the cooling fan, I may consider this player if my Lenoxx Sound HT600 goes back.

Good news that the 0 worked for all regions on your player.

RE: Budget DVD home cinema?

Hi Kierdog,
Can't help with the system choice but I too have the Lenoxx Sound HT600 & the fan noise is starting to get the better of me also. :(

Can't say that I've noticed the remote control problems that you describe, but I have noticed the player occasionally turn itself up a notch. :o
I could live with this but the fan noise sometimes is a little intrusive especially if you are watching something that has lots of quiet parts.

Apart from the fan noise the player is excellent value for money. (99.99 in England)

Regards.

RE: Binatone Dp 1800

Have you tried setting the region code to 0 (zero) if this is an option.
I have read some of the hacks for other players & if 0 is selected the player normally works with any region disc, give it a go & let us know.

Can you tell me if the Binatone Dp1800 has a cooling fan that runs when it is switched on, you will be able to hear this & it will also be visible on the back of the player.

What disks can you play on the system.

Does the system have AV inputs.

Thanks, Ub

RE: Please help :( How do you get the Tevion HT95 to output Tv`s sound????

Hi Mike,
I spotted the Binatone system in the Argos catalogue & it looks a nice system.

Can you tell me if it has a cooling fan?

Just hedging my bets in case the Lenoxx fan noise drives me over the top :D

RE: Please help :( How do you get the Tevion HT95 to output Tv`s sound????

Mike,
Can't help with any info on the Binatone DP1800 I'm afraid but if you search the forum there maybe some info kicking around.
If you end up buying the Binatone let us know what it's like.

I have a Lenoxx Sound HT600 & for the money it's a bargain. From what I have read it will just about play anything you feed it & it`s a breeze to hack to multi region.
I can`t see how top brand players that are double if not more in price can be that much better than the Lenoxx.

The only gripe I have is that the cooling fan on mine seems to be quite noisy, I don't have the volume up to loud around the 7 mark & it`s quite easy to here the fan. However if the volume is around the 15 mark (this is probably where most people will use the system) the fan noise is not noticeable.

Regards.

RE: Please help :( How do you get the Tevion HT95 to output Tv`s sound????

Hi,
If I have read the other Tevion HT95 threads correctly you CAN'T play your TV through the system, hence a load of people that have bought the system have returned it because of this very fact.

I do believe it says something on the box about the system having AV inputs but there isn't any.

I have never owned this system but I'm pretty sure that what I'm saying is correct, I'm sure a Tevion HT95 owner will be by soon to confirm this.

Regards.

RE: Well, here`s my solution which cost me 10 quid.

Hi,
After reading quite a few threads on these forums singing the praises of the Lenoxx Sound HT600 system I opted for buying one instead of the Tevion. The deciding factor for me was the AV inputs on the Lenoxx.

Overall I'm very pleased with the system, the sound seems quite good & DVD playback looks fine to me. I think that for the money (£99.99) you can't go far wrong with this system.

The only gripe I have is the cooling fan, which runs all of the time, & if you don't have the sound up much you can hear it quite clearly. (You may have seen my other posts on the subject) Also on my system the fan tends to get a bit nosier when it has been on for about 15 minutes.

I noticed that someone else (may not be on this thread) mentioned that they had noticed a "Poping noise" from the speakers with the system. I have also noticed this "Poping", it's most noticeable when you jump to a chapter or when you return to play mode from FF or REW but doesn't happen during normal play.
IMO this is a minor problem compared to the fan noise, but none the less best to be aware of it.

Personally I'm not sure if I can live with the noise from the fan so I am at the moment contemplating whether to keep the Lenoxx or not.

The instructions say that it can play - DVD's Audio CD's MP3 CD-R & CD-RW.

I only have R2 DVD's so I can't confirm what it will & won't play.

If any1's interested you can down load the full instruction manual in PDF format from:

www.lenoxx.com/audiosystems/HT600.htm

RE: Lenoxx Sound HT600 Fan Noise - is yours noisy??

Surely not all Lenoxx Sound HT600 owners are deaf.are they??

Lenoxx Sound HT600 Fan Noise - is yours noisy??

Hi,
I have the Lenoxx Sound HT600 & for the price it seems a good system, especially as it's easy to hack to multi region, thanks to the guys on the forum :)

I have noticed however that the small cooling fan makes it a bit noisy :(

The instructions make reference to a humming noise from the cooling fan (bottom right of page 22) but the way this is wrote gives me the impression that the cooling fan shouldn't be on all of the time. The fan on my system IS on all of the time, is this the same on your system?

RE: Whats wrong with this picture.................

Hi,
Further to my earlier post I have been messing around with the connections to my TV.

As I pointed out earlier if I connect either the Pioneer Ondigital box or the Lenoxx Sound system to my TV the picture is very dark. However I noticed that if I placed the scart from either of these into the AV2 socket of the TV the picture is great & not dar any more. :/

Just thought I would let you know so you could try this on your TV`s.

Regards.

RE: Whats wrong with this picture.................

Hi,
I personally can't offer any advice regarding your problem but I may know some people that can help. ;)

Try posting your problem over at AV forums www.avforums.com

AV forums concentrates on all aspects of AV performance & you should find some1 that can help you or at least offer you an explanation as to why this happens.

I have the same problem with my Toshiba 25 inch TV & a Pioneer Ondigital STB.
If I switch the output of the Pioneer to RGB the picture is very dark so I have to leave it on composite.
I have just recently bought a Lenoxx Sound home cinema system & this is the same also, however switching the output to Svideo in the Lenoxx's menu lightens the picture.

It's all above me I'm afraid. :o

Good luck in finding a solution.

RE: Aldi 8-in-1

Hi,
Does any1 have this remote working with the Lenoxx Sound HT600 system, if so could you post the code to use.
I have tried the manual & automatic search functions, but still no joy :(

Coops,
Glad to se that you got your TW box working in the end :)

RE: LENOXX DVD HOME CINEMA

Hi,
I also have the Lenoxx Sound HT600 & for the price it seems a good system, especially as it's easy to hack to multi region, thanks to the guys on the forum :D

I have noticed however that the small cooling fan makes it a bit noisy.

At the moment the system is just sitting on the floor in front of the TV unit maybe when it's placed inside the unit the noise won't be so noticeable.

RE: Tesco Venturer all in one DVD surround system £79.99

Hi,
Well I paid Tesco's a visit last night but unfortunately there was none of these systems to be seen anywhere & as it was Thursday night the shop was heaving with customers & very few staff.
It looked to me that they had never had any in this particular store (Tesco's extra)

So I called at Safeway to check out the Lenoxx Sound HT600.
It looked a nice system for the money (£99.99) & as there were only a couple left I bit the bullet & bought one.

Have to report that so far I'm impressed with it, good sound & pictures & able to be hacked to multi region.

Regards.

My telewest cable box is the first one , not the mark 2 version .... real square and small (like my brain) lol

Sorry to here that the code I gave doesn`t work with your TW box. :(
The box I have is a Jerrold.

I would try another manual search & an automatic search, as these seem to be a bit hit & miss if you ask me.
If you still have no luck maybe you won`t be able to control that type of receiver with this remote :(

Unless someone out there knows different?

RE: Tesco Venturer all in one DVD surround system £79.99

Hi,
Thanks for the reviews of this system, it sounds as though it's good value for money, add to this the fact that it can be hacked to multi region & you're onto a winner for the price :)

May just have to pay Tesco's a visit & check one out.

RE: Tesco Venturer all in one DVD surround system £79.99
