Toshiba Strata TV problem

Hi Folks,

Just looking for some advice... Does anyone out there have a similar problem to this (below), or is it unique? Does anyone know if a repair centre is likely to be able to cure it?

The problem is minor, but annoying. My 15-month old Toshiba 32ZD26P Strata TV has developed a defect where the picture image appears to be rotated slightly (by a few degrees) anticlockwise within the image frame. This is particularly noticeable when any text is displayed across the bottom of the screen, or when graphics are being displayed with horizontal lines - the lines are noticeably closer to the bottom of the screen on the left hand side than on the right hand side. The problem exists when using a normal UHF aerial input or using the component video inputs from a SD220 DVD, and the defect is always present (not intermittent).

The TV is out of warranty, and I have contacted Toshiba and they state that there is no service menu that can rotate the display. (Apparently, the 36" version has a rotate option, but not the 32".)

Any thoughts / advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Stuart

No apology needed! :) Reading forums often gives a bad impression of products - in general only the bad points get discussed! I`ve been extremely pleased with the TV - the picture image quality is superb; I just guess Toshiba had to keep the price down somehow, and the area that got hit is the geometry controls. Still, for £800 I don`t think there are many 32" alternatives with the same picture...

I`ll be trying to improve things using the designer menus this evening - there appears to be no rotation adjustment, but may be able to decrease the effect with some of the other geometry settings.

Thanks again,
Stuart
