RE: Slayer`s EvoX.....how do u install a new version?

Yes once you get an iso image you can simply go to File->Open in Nero to burn the image (unless you have an old Samsung drive that reads cd-r you will need to burn it to cd-rw or DVD). It should then load.

Ady.

RE: Slayer`s EvoX.....how do u install a new version?

You need to have a .xbe file to launch any program off an Xbox disk. An .exe file won`t run.

Have you got an iso of the Slayers install disk ? If so it should be 376,192kb and end in .iso

If you have an .iso you can File -> Open it in Nero and it will bring up the burn menu.

RE: Anyone using TomTom 3, or have any other PDA advice?

The entire UK Map on Tomtom3 take up 106mb or thereabouts (the speeed camera database is quite small too so won`t impact on space) so a 256 card is fine but if you can get a 1GB card anyway you will clearly be able to fit more games/apps/movies/music etc on it without the need to swap cards around.

There is also a workaround for transferring it to someone elses PDA but it`s involves illegally copying 3 files from your PDA Windows folder to someone elses :-(

RE: Emulators on chipped X-box

It depends which emulators you are talking about, which dashboard you use and how your hard drive is set up. You will either need to edit any .ini files to look in the correct folders (or the D Drive) or put the Roms in the folder that the emulator expects them to be in as default. You can put the Roms there via FTP or using one of the File Explorers in UnleashX or Avalaunch etc..

Post more info about your set-up and which emulators you`re trying to run.

RE: NEED TO KNOW HOW TO COPY XBOX GAMES -ANY IDEAS???

If your copying DVDR copied games then Nero etc. if you want to "back-up" original games you`ll need a chipped XBox, linked to your PC via FTP, and then either DVD2XBOX which normally comes installed with chipped boxes or a program called QWIX (which is free). This will then enable you to copy the games fomr the XBox DVD Drioev to a folder on your PC.

RE: chipped xbox ,where to buy one.please help.

And how much are you willing to pay for it? I have a crystal with 250gig and Blue Leds in controller ports and On/Off switch.

They cost a fair bit to build though!!

RE: Why doesn`t the PS2 Network Adaptor support 137+ GB drives?

You need to get hold of the LBA48 Patched HDLoader or HDAdvance2. They can recognise any size drives in theory.

RE: Toshiba 330 and DVDRs??

I`d say it`s the disks and/or your writing speed.

But probably the disks.

Try burning one slower and if that is still the same then you know it`s your disks.

I had the same problems with my 330 and certain disks, it`s just a matter of finding some that suit your machine.

RE: ps2 slide thingy or flip top thingy ? any good ?

How have you been trying to do it?

I have an unchipped console and bought a X-Port 2 (cheat device) that has a usb cable that connects to the PS2. I then used PS2Save-builder to create a save and titleman to create a title.db file that lists the PS1 games that it can use to boot from.

There is a tutorial on how to do it using various methods on the ps2ownz.com forums and also on ps2-scene.org forums.

Let me know how you are trying to put the exploit onto the card and I`ll try to help.

RE: ps2 slide thingy or flip top thingy ? any good ?

I wouldn`t bother with a chip, just get yourself a Network Adapter, 160gig drive and put the HDAdvance exploit on a memory card. Load the disk with games and you`ll rarely have to open disc tray again. I got my kids a 160gig drive with 55 games on it (all back-ups of my originals of course) for Xmas and they don`t even know that you`re supposed to put a disc into the ps2!! They think it`s normal to be able to turn it on and select a game from the list :-)

Some people even rent games from a video shop and transfer them to the disk and say it`s cheaper than buying "copies". tut tut.

PM me if you need any advice on it.

RE: SD cards i bought one on mistake

They may not be half the price but Viking Cards are £30.54 on E-Buyer with Free Postage. (for those that don`t win the auction :-))

RE: Pioneer 105 upgrade. Help Please

AFAIN your drive won`t burn at 4x no matter what Firmware upgrade you have, You will need to get a 106 if you want to burn at 4x.

RE: Pioneer DV-350 or Toshiba SD330?

I bought the Tosh 330 multi region from 24-7 to replace my sd220. Only because my TV is a tosh and the remote controls my dvd, tv and video. Is that lame reason or what?

:-)

RE: Help - how to backup my dvds....

If you`re going to "backup" then you need to "buy" DVD2ONE and download DVD Decrypter. Then it`s just a matter of ripping the original files to your HD (DVDDecrypter will do this automatically( and then run DVD2One and select the soundtrack and subs etc...

Then burn away usinf RecordNow Max or Nero. You may need to watch what media you use, when I started "backing up" I wasted lots of Bulqpak disks that just stuck and skipped at the end of a longish movie.

If you`re not too happy with the output quality of DVD2One then you may want to look at Pinnacle Instant Copy.

Hope that helps.

RE: Predictions please for the cost of a plasma by next Xmas.

I read in Stuf (or was it T3?) recently that Plasma`s may be overtaken by LCD screens in the not too distant future. Apparently LCD has a much sharper picture, is lighter (weight) and lasts longer that Plasma. The stumbling block has been getting a large screen made, but Samsung have releaseda 29" (£6K I think) and they are going to start getting bigger.

There low shelf life was one of the reasons I went for a Tosh 36ZP18 instead, well that and the cash :-).

I reckon you may be right about a £1000 42" tho`.
