Slayer`s EvoX.....how do u install a new version?

Snookums (Competent) posted this on Monday, 18th July 2005, 17:26

I`m trying to update my X-box front end thingie. It`s just one exe file which I`ve burnt to a CD....which the X-box didn`t recognize and then to a DVD which it also didn`t like. Do I need to change it to a different format or burn it differently? I just burnt it as a data file using Nero.

Thanks for any help.

You need to have a .xbe file to launch any program off an Xbox disk. An .exe file won`t run.

Have you got an iso of the Slayers install disk ? If so it should be 376,192kb and end in .iso

If you have an .iso you can File -> Open it in Nero and it will bring up the burn menu.

Ah......I`ll get an ISO version........will the usual `Burn image to disc` option be OK then?
It`s just a lot of the newer discs won`t load at the moment so I`m assuming I need a more up-to-date bios and loader?

Thanks for that Ady :D

Remember to backup your SYSTEM directory, and anything else you might want. Iast time I run slayers it wiped the disk well and proper!. Probally best to flashfxp the entire disk first! so you have a backup. There is also some alternatives to slayers around...X-DISC comes to mind, but I have not experanced (tested) it yet.

Yes once you get an iso image you can simply go to File->Open in Nero to burn the image (unless you have an old Samsung drive that reads cd-r you will need to burn it to cd-rw or DVD). It should then load.

Ady.
