I bought the Mico clasica 20 from Sainsbury`s but it wouldn`t play Vcds.
E-mailed Micoelectric.com for the upgrade 3 times but never heard a thing. So back it went.
Better off buying another brand. I bought the Pacific dvd 1002 from Asda, Excellent machine plays everything Just £70.

Can`t help you just yet but don`t fall into the trap i fell into 12 months ago...
`Lexmark Z31 printer only £50` a bargain i thought until i came to replace the cartridges.. £53 for Black and Colour. It`s sat unused under my computer ever since.
I`m now looking for the cheapest cartridges and will buy a printer to suit!!!!!

After browsing through loads of forums one thing that amazes me is the amount of people who want a hack for their machine, apply it and then find they have a problem. I bet the majority haven`t got region 1, 3 or 4 disks but they still insist on making their machine Multi-Region.
I`ve only got region 2 disks so i won`t be applying a hack (if my machine needs one) until such time as i need to. As the old saying goes `If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it !!!!!!` Any thoughts !

Dave, You have bought the newer model from Sainsbury`s i take it ??
I`m pretty sure these newer ones don`t accept the hack (well it wouldn`t on mine) and the only way to get a VCD to work is keep pressing `1` on the remote while the disk is loading.
I got very frustrated with mine and took it back. Shame really because it`s a good player.

It has the original version and the director`s cut. This is a great film.

Gold Scart lead

I`ve just bought one of the `Gold` scart leads as they are supposed to be better. Is this a con or what as my picture and sound look exactly the same as with my cheapo scart lead ?

Just looked on Richer sounds website and they say it will read CD-R but it does`nt say anything about CD-RW and mentions VCD but not SVCD.
I would be grateful of any thoughts on the Pacific DVD1002.

What does RCE mean??

I am getting a bit pi**ed trying to find a DVD player that will play everything for under £100 (i`m not loaded you know)
Firstly i bought a Maxim from Big W but it had lipsync problems so back it went. Then i bought a Mico clasica 20 which was good but didn`t play VCDs so that went back too. Apparently the Pacific DVD1002 from good old Asda will play anything and is only £70! Any thoughts !! If not i`ll go for the Philips DVD634 (£95 from Richer Sounds) unless again you lot have a better idea. I thank you in advance for your help.

My new machine doesn`t play VCDs or SVCDs. Is it normal or have i got a problem with it.

HELP!!!! Can anyone tell me whether their mico clasica 20 plays VCDs as mine doesn`t. Also the hack (2,9,1,8 Enter) doesn`t work.

I`ve just bought the mico clasica 20 from Sainsburys (£89.99) and i`ve got a couple of problems i could do with help on...
1) It won`t play VCDs or SVCDs ?!? All the reviews say it does.
2) The region hack of 2,9,1,8 Enter doesn`t do anything!!
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone else is thinking of buying this machine, note that it doesn`t come with a scart lead.

1) Did you have any problems getting your money back from BigW?
2) I presume you have the Asda Pacific 750, does it play VCDs (especially copied ones) and SVCDs?
3) How much was it?

The dimensions are 43cm long, 29cm deep and 5cm high.
Has anyone had a problem with the tray catching the door when it is closed??

Maxim MX11-20 5.1 DVD PLAYER - SVCD Audio and video not in sync

No you`re not the only one in the world, there`s 2 of us!!
It`s of no help to you but i too have the same problem with the lipsync with SVCDs. VCDs seem ok. A couple of my mates who have bought `cheap` DVD players also seem to have lipsync problems with SVCDs. Then again what can we expect for £80 !?!
I`ve searched the web daily since i bought it (2 weeks ago) to try and get some help/info all to no avail, even Copernic gives only 1 or 2 returns and they`re only forums like this.
