Right i`m going to get a Pacific DVD1002 from Asda this morning unless you guys can tell me otherwise. I`m waiting !!!!!! Might as well make a hat-trick of returned DVD players this last fortnight!

Sorry to sound ovbious Garry, but why dont you just get a decent brand name, and a reputable product from a range. Not as if you pay an arm and a leg these days.

You could do a lot worse than buying a Toshiba-SD125 or upwards for less than £100 at http://www.richersounds.co.uk Toshiba Pioneered DVD technology and believe me there still at the fore front when picture is at stake.

Imho, ive just buy a decent player, all these cheap&tacky players are made from DVD-Rom computer drives which have basically been housed in larger casing and fed the necessary bits, artifacts and bad aliasing arent wholly uncommon.

Multi-region hack:
I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL
To change the current region setting on this player
1. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control
2. Press the Clear button on your remote control
3. Press the 1 button on your remote control
4. Press the 3 button on your remote control
5. Press the 6 button on your remote control
6. Press the 9 button on your remote control
7. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback
8. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control
To change the current region setting on this player if the above does not work
1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
2. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 7 for multi-region playback
3. Press the Pause/Step button on your remote control
4. Press the Previous button on your remote control
5. Press the Next button on your remote control
6. Press the Setup button on your remote control

There is also a VCD Hack, but i coulsnt be arsed to look at this time in the morning, going back to bed.

Thanx men for your input especially jimb0b. But alas tis too late i`ve parted with the £69.83 and got it!
I`m getting a dab hand at taking players back now so it won`t be a problem if i`m not happy with it. Will let you know!
