Best HIFI and Surround Sound

:/ Help. I have a good but not exceptional Hifi set up with Sound Surround for Movies.7 speaker set up. My Lounge is carpeted but I`m thinking of laying down laminated flooring. Can any of you Audophiles out there tell me if the Sound is going to to be better if I stick to carpet or will it make a big difference if I had wooden flooring.Thanks.Whats your advice.

Projection Monitor Receiver

Help needed please. I have a 50" Pioneer Projection Monitor SD-T5000 which is a about 10 years old. I am thinking of using it also as a monitor for my computer to play games and surf the net. In the instruction manual under "RGB operating mode it states that this is provided for connection of satellite decoders and home computer. Connect to the AV-1 socket. This socket is one of two scart sockets. Is there a lead I can get toconnect from my computer to this scart socket? Can it be done or am Ihopeing for too much. Can anyone hekp? I`m a complete amateur so any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Perfect Demonstration for your Dolby Digital and DTS....

Having bought a couple of the DTS issued Demonstration discs which are good to test your surround system, By chance I have found the best disc to test my system . Try the "Aero" album by Jean Michel Jarre. I do not know if this is what they call a Duel Disc but the first disc is just a normal CD while the second is a DVD with DTS and Dolby Digital sound of the same CD. The DVD contains a motionless picture while the music is playing but the sound is incredible. Show off your sound system to your friends with this disc and they will be well impressed.Honest. I got this disc at CD-Wow for £4.99 awhile ago.

Yes Friend, I have disconnected the battery and reconnected and put in the pin code still nothing. I`ve even taken out the radio and found a 7.5 amp fuse which I replaced and still nothing. It all started when I tried using the CD socket. There was a little blip and then no sound from either the radio or CD, I can tell the radio is working becasue if I raise the volune to full I do hear a sound but very very low.I have a feeling I am not going to win. Thanks again to everyone who tried to help.

Phillips car radio

My Phillips car radio will not play despite the dials being illuminated. If i turn the volume really high i do get a very low sound on a radio station but other than that i cant even get a sound from my CD. Any ideas or do i bin it. Thanks.

PIONEER 50" REAR PROJECTION tv

Hi,
I have a 50" Pioneer elete rear projection TV which i bought about 10 years ago and its never been cleaned inside. Apparently a friend of mine took a chance and cleaned his own 40 inch TV and the picture is asclear when first bought. I do not want to take a chance and do it myself . Does anyone out there know of a Company who could do the job for me? Thanks

Can anyone tell me if there is a printer that prints DVD and CD labels by inserting the Blank disc or recorded disc into the printer without having to print the labels seperately. Thank you

Does anyone know how to enter the Radio Code for a Phillips Radio?cassettee car Player. The Battery went dead so I CANNOT get the player to work until I put the code in. The mini disc i was using was a new replacement which did not have mic input.I was trying to record thru line in. DOH!!!! I`ve now replaced it with a player that has go a mic in socket. Yet again thanks for your replies. I`m grateful.

Mini Disc recording

Help please. I use a mini disc recorder to record interviews and speeches etc. All was well until recently the recording comes out very low and muffled. I`ve tried a friends mini disc and the same happens. I EVEN BOUGHT A NEW CLIP ON \microphone and its the same low response. What am I doing wrong. Can anyone help me to solve this problem.. Thanks .

:( Help please once again. I was given this MP3 player for Xmas and my ME Edition of Windows will not recognize this device.I even tried downloading Drives from the PACKARD bELL aUDIO key disc for drivers and still no luck. Its works perfectly on Windows XP. Is there any solution to this problem or do I have to upgrade to XP. It say on the packaging its compatable with Windows ME. Thanks.

:( Help needed please. Every thme recently that I`ve logged on to my computer it just freezes and it activates again after I press Ctrl Alt delete. The programme Msgsrv 32 is highlighted as not responding. I end this programme and it begins again. But during my surfing the net this happens once or twice and in order to undo the freeze I have the to the same as above. It there anyting I can do or is my Pc TOO old. I`ve had it for about 6 years. If you really wanted to show off your sound system on Dolby Digital or the better DTS when your friends come around.. play the "Drum Dance " scene for the House of Flying Daggers. Absolutely astounding sound and picture and the movie is good too.

Hurry. I did have to connect the phono leads to the 6 phono out sockets of the DVD player to the amp. It works. I only have two SACDs. one is only Stereo, which was foxing me and the other is the new Mark Knopfler SACD where i really began to hear the difference. So thanks to all who answered my call for help in sorting this problem out.

Yes the amp has a dedicated digital and analogue input to be fed from the DVD/SACD player. I WILL NOW ENDEVOUR TO connect the 3 sets of phono plugs mro, 6 channels out puts of the DVD players into my amp. and I;ll see what happens. Again thanks for you help and patience. Both answers will help me.

Yes. I checked page 22 of the manual. Thanks for that. Just to ask that when I play a SACD dics my Amp automatically senses the audio but only plays it through 2 channels. I have to alter the sound mode ie Neo DTS music to get the sound surround. Does your amp automatically play SACDs through all six speakers or it it normal that hen you paly aSACD you get 2 channel sound and its up to you to alter the sound mode. Do I make sense or am I still all confused. I DO APOLOGISE if I

SACD connection

Please help...I know I`m utterly useless but I always get good advise from this forum. I just had my PIONEER 575a Dvd player delivered today and I`ve tried to hook it up to my Sony STR DB795. I get the Sound from a DVD and ordinary CD via the optical connection yet not a sound from a SACD disc. When I hook it up to ordinary phono plugs then I the sound from the SACD. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Is it the DVD player that I need to refer to in the menu.

Any recommendations for a Home cinema projector - installations etc...anyone who recently installed one - can you recommend a dealer. One of the scariest movies I`ve seen was The Warning - with Jack Palance Martin Landau and Cameron Mitchell. I first saw it on VHS and it scared me to the extent you felt sacred for the young girl in this stalk and kill film. I eventually managed to get this on Pal laserdisc some 15 -20 years ago. I hope someday this will be issued on DVD.The hunted are human and the hunters are aliens from another galaxy and the hunting ground is Earth.
